The Pilgrim's Progress: Legacy Edition (Clothbound Hardcover) Unabridged and Easy to Read with Classic Illustrations

This is a well-packaged book. Having read the original text, I can appreciate the modernization of the language for a broader audience. It was a slog the first time I read it because of the archaic use of words and the colloquialisms that were relevant in Bunyan's time. This modernization doesn't detract from the excellent allegory and message this story provides. It is fulfilling, and as a Christian, the deeper meaning of the text (and the Biblical references where applicable) shines through.Plus it looks great along side your other hardback books in your library.

I remember reading Pilgrim's Progress as a child and thought it would be a good devotional with my 10 year old son. He really enjoys the many sketches and artwork in this book and the language has also been updated to read more in-line with 21st century English. It's great!

We purchased this book because my son was attending a "pilgrims progress" camp at our church and he/we had never read the book. SUCH a wonderful book that we all enjoyed. Great for all ages with wonderful biblical storytelling and lessons.

One of the most beautiful books in my library, from the cloth-bound cover engraved in blue and gold, to the script and art work inside. A treasure, at a great price.

This a book that is beautifully put together. The classic fabric cover with a gold and blue "engraving" look adds to the vintage aesthetic. It comes with a map to Celestial city a very nice touch and the illustrations in the book a wonderful.

We have a few editions and levels of Pilgrims Progress. This edition is gorgeous! The gold pages and ribbon bookmark make it even more lovely. This will be a treasured edition and will be passed down.

One of the very best books I’ve ever read. We did it for our homeschool read aloud book and found that it spoke about the covenant path every disciple must find and follow if they want to live forever with Christ again. (You will especially enjoy this if you are LDS.)The English he used was a literary delight and most refreshing yet still understandable while introducing a few new words that aren’t in use today.If you’re interested, there is a Torchlighter’s video about John Bunyan as well as a kids’ game and activity book.

Not often do you get so excited about reading a book. Beautiful creations like this are hard to find. The binding, ink, textures and smells are exactly what you would expect!

The font size is perfect making it easy to read in a day. The story is translated very well which keeps the focus on the story not on the old English words. Very well done.
