A must read for anyone wanting to take control of their liver health!
In "Reversing Cirrhosis," author Susan Pryde chronicles her journey with cirrhosis of the liver, a life-changing diagnosis that left her with a sense of despair and uncertainty. After six months of grueling tests and doctor's appointments, Susan had to confront the reality of her situation: she was facing a potentially fatal illness with few treatment options available. But Susan refused to give up. Fueled by her determination and a newfound drive to take control of her health, she began researching ways to maximize her health through proper nutrition and self-care."Reversing Cirrhosis" offers readers a comprehensive guide to reversing the effects of cirrhosis of the liver and regaining their health. With her own experiences as a backdrop, Susan's guide offers hope and practical advice to anyone who is struggling with cirrhosis of the liver or a related condition. Whether you've recently been diagnosed or you're seeking to proactively take control of your health, "Reversing Cirrhosis" is an essential resource that can help you make the most of your life and health.I ordered Sue’s book after stumbling on her Facebook page shortly after I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. My cirrhosis is due to NAFLD, I don’t drink alcohol but my diet was full of sweets and junk food and I did not exercise. I was not extremely obese but was at an unhealthy weight. I had become aware that my healing was up to me (and God!), it was time to take steps to get healthy. I was a little shocked by my diagnosis as my liver enzymes were normal for the first time in many years. But my platelets were dropping which I did not know was a telltale sign of cirrhosis for anyone with a history of NAFLD. My dad died from ESLD so I knew what complications of this disease could lead to and I don’t want to go there! Sue’s book offered hope that I could take steps to turn this disease around. She explains what test results mean in layman’s terms and gives insight on what to expect from your physician. She offers suggestions on diet modifications and tells what worked for her. It’s an easy read where Sue tells the story of her journey with honesty and emotion as she did what many doctors say is impossible and reversed her cirrhosis! It is truly written from her heart with a desire to help others achieve the same. I just had my first 6 month follow up with my liver specialist where my Fibroscan CAP score dropped from 269 to 100 and my kPa dropped from 20.8 to 12.8. I have lost 59 pounds and am now at a healthy weight. I’m exercising every day. I honestly believe I would not have made the necessary life style changes to be able to accomplished this if I had not read “Reversing Cirrhosis” by Susan Pryde. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone with cirrhosis.

Cirrhosis Diagnosis
Has this diagnosis left you feeling scared and confused, or are you simply feeling numb like I was a few months ago? Do you feel alone and unsure of where to turn? Should you keep it a secret? Should you tell your whole family or just a few? What about friends and co-workers? Are you wondering about medicine, diet, exercise? If all these thoughts are flooding your mind, you need this book!Sue Pryde had many of these same thoughts and feelings. Take a trip with her and learn a little bit about her life leading up to her diagnosis and find out what she chose to do with that information. It's a beautiful story about how she came to terms with her diagnosis, educated herself about the disease, and ultimately clawed her way back to good health. Keep in mind that this is her story, and she has simply chosen to share it with us. Her story gives me hope. I know that I may not have the same outcome, but knowing that she was able to reverse her cirrhosis at least lets me know that it is possible.Don't forget to check out the conclusion of the book where Sue has listed some ways in which to contact her. I am a member of her private support group, and this is an excellent way to keep up with people who are in the same boat and looking for ways to improve their health. We have many great discussions about a variety of topics in dealing with this disease. All of us are in different stages of liver disease and dealing with different symptoms with some being mild and some being more serious. No matter where we are in this illness, we all agree that this group is helping us live our best lives while trying to navigate our paths to better health. Come join us!

Riveting from cover to cover.
If you've been diagnosed with cirrhosis, trust that I know just how scary it is. I found Sue, just after my own scary diagnosis, about 18-20 months ago. I found her blog through a google search, and through that blog, I found hope. Why? Because she was like me, only she was healing. She was proof that healing is possible. It is possible, and I was so excited to read her book today, that after receiving it, I could not put it down until I had finished every single word. In this book, Sue goes over the fear, the anxiety, the stress and how she overcame it, chose to eat her way to health. What she says about believing that healing is possible is monumental. If you don't have the belief that it's possible, you won't take the extreme steps needed to affect change. If you're ready for a roadmap, grab this book. Still the naysayer in your mind, and go change what you need to to heal. Healing IS possible. It happened for Sue. It also happened for me, because of finding her, and additionally because after finding hope for healing, I knew that it could and would happen for me too, and it has.If I had to say what was most important in this book, it's that I can literally identify with every feeling she had during her health journey. The fear of eating the wrong foods, the fear of the next test or tests being worse than before, the fear of reversing it and then perhaps regression at any point. One of the other important things that she talks about in her healing journey is the gratitude to where cirrhosis took her. Without cirrhosis, she wouldn't have found health. This part is part of my story as well. Sue, you wrote about your experience, and within it, it's the experience of many others as well. It's SO completely relatable. If you need hope, grab the book!
