Update: my daughter has used this bed for 7 months and we have discovered multiple cracks all over from the bottom. This is not normal wear and tear from making the bed, general child usage from my 6 and 2 year old, plus the occasional sleepover. No one jumps in the bed or abuses it. It's going in the trash next week. Waste of several hundred dollars, do not buy. Send the kids to grandma's for the day because assembly takes an energy drink and 8-10 hours of dedication (with breaks for food) and a minimum of two people. A third set of teen or adult hands would be 100% helpful, though. The instructions were mostly clear and easy to understand. We were missing the magnets for the doors on the stairs. All that would still garner 5 stars, though. This bed is super cute and great for space saving. I give 3 stars because this bed has a weight limit of 400lbs, but my 180# husband sat on one of the benches (he did not flop down, mind you, he just sat down normally) and cracked two of the slats. When I climb the stairs, they bow under my weight (170#) and we had to reinforce the bottom step because the front is just flimsy 1/16" particle board and it made us nervous. The paint is terrible quality, easily marked up with the slightest pressure, so it's already covered in scratches from normal 6yo wear and tear (we've had it for 3 months).
