6U Professional Wall Mount Network Server Cabinet Enclosure 19-Inch Server Network Rack Mid-Depth Black

After buying my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro I had been deciding how to mount it ... simple 2u wall-mount or clean up my whole home office setup and consolidate everything into a rack. Decided to spend the time and effort to clean it up and been really happy with the result.I chose this case, and made some modifications to make it easier to work with/maintain since I was not going to be wall-mounting it, but placing under my desk. Here are the products I went with:- Casters -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y49D2J2 - which fit and function perfectly. Was able to secure them with the two bolts at each corner that hold the case together rather than drilling new spaces. Feels very secure and stable when wheels are locked and very easy to work with and slide around otherwise.- Swing door -- with $10 bucks in door/gate supplies (narrow hinges and latch) from a local hardware store I made a simple swing door to mess around in the back without having to take off the back panel (normally secured with screws). Make sure to get a punch, screws and bolts, and a good drill bit - I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AESUDU/ which went through the steel very easily.- Dust screens -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PXK2HWX -- I wanted to try and reduce dust and any larger particles from getting in the case where I reasonably could (e.g. animal fur/dander), so I cut pieces to fill all of the openings around the case and secured with some stronger double sided tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LFRN1K8).- Active cooling -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JLV4BWC -- the case has two cutouts for 120mm fans at the top, so I wanted to take advantage of that with active exhaust. These AC Infinity fans have been super quiet on low speed and all of the gear inside is registering great temps, so more active cooling has not been needed.- Wire management -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B5YSKV4 & https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E1Y5O6 -- I originally intended on just using velcro to secure the cables throughout, but bought the clips to use behind my desk to route wires where I needed. Tried them in the case to route my Cat7 and made things super clean and easy. I used them in far more places than I intended and happy I did. They'll each hold 4 x Cat7 cables easily, maybe 5 for thinner cables with less shielding. I used velcro throughout the back of the case for things like power cables.- Cables -- https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Entegrade-Ethernet-Patch-Cable/dp/B07GGPQKWD -- No actual need for Cat7 over Cat6e, but figured if I was redoing it all, may as well spend the extra couple dollars. I went with 7' for devices connecting from 1u to 9u, but would have had less waste with 5'.Bottom to top in the pictures:Floor of case -> 3u: Cable modem, external hard drive, Synology NAS 213+4u -> 7u: Dell Inspiron (home server) laying on https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C9KYUG8. I decided to go with a 10" deep shelf because any deeper and you will start to limit your flexibility on cable management.8u: CyberPower CPS1215RM Basic PDU - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00077IG3O -- I already had a CyberPower UPS I really like so didn't fancier features like surge protection or rack mount UPS.9u: Ubiquiti Dream Machine ProA few notes:- Front door can be installed in either direction, but if you reverse it, there is a logo that will be upside down. A hair dryer and rubbing with some paper towel took it right off.- The case does have some sharper corners, so be careful.- The door on the front may not line up perfectly until you get it fully assembled and- This case was extra great because it has 4 posts -- made cable management much easier in the back by giving something to secure cables to.- Opted not to get a patch panel to save a few bucks, but also was low on room. Could probably have mounted patch in the same U as the PDU - if the PDU went to the back posts.- Plan your wiring and device placement before you start. I opted to go with all power connections on left and network cabling on right side.- This case lets you pick whether to route cables in/out of the rack at the top or bottom and provides 2 plates and screws to cover them both up if not needed.

I bought this from Amazon, and I like it. It holds my ubiquiti stuff just fine. It does get a little warm in my garage where I have it, it has some venting holes and room for 2 120mm fans on top. I have 2 fans exhausting the hot air out the top, but I'd definitely recommend to the manufacturer that they make the sides and or the bottom able to accommodate more fans. I'd much rather have a few filtered fans blowing air into the unit then have just 2 exhausting the cabinet. All in all I like it, but I do think it could be better.On another note, the door is reverable, and I did change the way it swings, it wasn't too bad, but now I have to lift the door slightly to close it. Also, another note to the manufacturer, if your going to put a lock on the door, why not put them on the 2 removable sides as well? Now if I needed to lock the cabinet I'd have to get 3 new lock barrels so they would be keyed the same.

Door was glued to the glass probably in a hurry, door doesn’t fit/close properly. Support dis not answer to this issue to replace the door.

I bought this because it was a locking cabinets. There’s no point to a locking cabinet when you can remove the panels on the side from the outside. The box was already put together when I realized you could remove the sides from the outside, so there was nothing I could do and I couldn’t return. Waste of money.

Easy setup for switch gear at home or for your small business

I purched this for a client to secure his dvr. If you want a security box like I did keep looking. I assumed the removable side panels would be lockable like the front door.Nope, just squeeze the latches and they will come right out. Sort of defeats the purpose of a security box if a child can get in it. I had no time to return it so I locked it with sheet metal screws. Disappointing.

Great quality for the price, very sturdy design, of course I will recommend to my friends!
