Spectacular Pre-Amp / Amp Modeler in a Compact Pedal
This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. This Combo Deluxe 65' amp modeler pedal from T.C. Electronic is such a good device. First of all it cannot drive a speaker if that is your intent, you will need to look elsewhere. My goal was to buy this as part of a tiny setup alternative to powering up my bigger Fender Blues Deluxe 45 watt tube amp. If you do not know they are extremely loud... much too loud to play in a normal size room even at lower volumes if you are trying to get tube warmth out of it.I use this as a preamp to plug directly into after my tuner. I then run my usual pedals after this and at the end I run the output from the last pedal to an Electro Harmonix 5mm power amp pedal to a 10" Boogie cab. This tiny set up still cranks in a small room and you can get so many sounds just from this Combo Deluxe 65' preamp pedal. This pedal even by design is hinting strongly that it is attempting to give you the sound of the coveted Fender 1965 Princeton Reverb amp. I love amps that have a nice transparent tube warmth. Not too much distortion a little thickness added without coloring the tone of your guitar. This pedal is spot on! Noon on the dials is 5, I put Treble at 6, Bass at 4, Mid at 6 and drive at 3. Everything else is at 5. This gets me exactly the sound I need. It has a headphone jack which makes it a great device to practice with.If you are running this alone or for practice without other pedals you can get it to growl a little by boosting the gain.I think it has great tones all around. It feels like it is built like a tank. It will run off of one of your regular 9v power supplies. It works of my isolated power supply with any of the normal cords. This is convenient since I see other amp modelers that require 18v or require their own weird supply. This is my go to modeler and since I have most things packed up in preparation for a move this has been my go to setup every day when I play.It also has a 1/4" DI output with a Celestion Creamback cab modeler. I have not used this yet but I would take a guess that it will sound great too based on everything I have experienced from this pedal so far.

Solid Preamp Pedal
Sounds close enough to a Deluxe Reverb but the boost channel is a little off, but that’s what overdrive pedals are for right. Still gets the job done and definitely would recommend to someone looking for a front of house pedal board setup.

Best direct deluxe reverb pedal for the price
This thing sounds more like a deluxe reverb that the deluxe reverb (tonemaster) I own. Tc electronic did it better than the fender boys this time around.

Good sound - but lots of hiss
I like the sound of the pedal; However, it produces a lot of hiss. This is much more than either of my tube amps produce, which is close to none.I updated the firmware to the latest and tried different cables, guitars, and a power supply. Still, the hiss is there. It sounds best when I plug it into an SS amp, my Fishman LBX 100. However, in either of my tube amps, Fender and Laney, the noise is very annoying. I may try to exchange this for another hoping my unit is just defective.

Works ok, gain = zero.⭐️s 🫤
Kind of impressed with tone and reverb. Does jot do high gain well at all. Device volume is a but glitchy. Overall unreliable for professional use - had to return.

Terrible cleans for an amp that models a deluxe reverb
I have been looking for an “amp in a box” pedal and was really intrigued by how affordable this one was. I play mostly clean indie rock music, with lots of reverb and chorus etc., so I was super excited to try a pedal that was modeled after a reverb 65, since they’re known to be the best amp for clean tones, but this pedal does not fit that bill. I tried it both via the cabinet modeler into my Scarlett solo, the regular output into my small tube amp, and direct usb into my DAWS, and no matter how you try, it’s output won’t be loud enough unless the gain volume is at a point where you get breakup, and not good overdriven tube sounding breakup, but weird digital breakup. If you plug distortion or OD pedals into it and want that sound, it’s okay with that distorted fuzzy sound, but that’s not what someone buying this pedal is likely going for. I’m wondering if they put the wrong electronics in the pedal since I know that the other pedals in their ampworx line are modeled after more overdriven amps. Looks like I’m back to saving up for a higher priced pedal!

Very Torn!!!
So let me preface this with saying that I may update this in the future. I plan on requesting a replacement. The hum, hiss, and overall noise on this unit is worse than most tube amps I've played while playing single coil pickups. That being said, I don't know if this is an overall flaw, or if I just received a faulty product. Aside from that, it would be nice to see a firmware update that actually added the vibrato from the original amp. The title of this review was so named because the realism and overall tone and options are amazing. I've played many amp pedals or so-called amp in a box units, but if these issues are fixed I can honestly say that this is the best amp pedal I have ever heard.
