Blue Green Slime Stain Remover

My discus tank became overrun with cyanobacteria (green slime "algae"). Attempts to remove by scraping and lights off didn't work. Wasn't prepared to raise nitrates. This stuff worked a treat. Saw some benefit after the first dose. Second dose added 48 hrs later. No signs of "algae" 5 days later. No evidence of any impact on the discus (or other small fish).

My tank looked and smelled really bad, I did 2 doses 48 hours apart and one week later the algae has vanished, and so has the swampy smell. I was a little worried for my 12 year old clown loach but all fish have been fine and the plants look a lot better. Just need to give that glass a good clean now!

This stuff is fantastic, I were very sceptical as I'd tried just about everything to get rid of this green layer that covered everything, nothing worked.I'd completely emptied the tank several times bleaching even the gravel leaving to soak 2 hrs.It still didn't work, everything I tried it kept coming back the very next day.I tried Water changes every few days, lights off for a week, still didn't work.I'd lost numerous plants because of it.Then I came across this stuff, my tank were covered in slime, plants, glass, heaters the lot when I put it in, it were really bad.I were going to get rid of the tank if this didn't work.It were nearly at its worst when I added it, the next day it weren't any better but no worse, I followed the instructions and added a second dose.The next day it were going from green slime to brown, then it were disappearing.After a week it were nearly gone but not completely, so again I followed the instructions and added another dose, also a partial water change, the next day it were gone, it were really gone!!!I can't begin to tell you how happy I am, I'm extatic that finally it's actually gone.I can't thank the manafacturer of this stuff enough, it's absolutely brilliant stuff and I very highly recommend it to others who have the same problem.I kept my fish and nerite & spixi snails in the whole time & they are all absolutely OK.It were worth every penny to have my tank back to normal.As I said I were sceptical at first but I needn't have been, its absolutely amazing, whatever is in it definitely works.If you have the same problem I had then use this.I thought I were battling an algae problem, apparently it's not algae it's a blue green slime not related to it, hence why the bleaching and the algae stuff I bought before didn't work.I just wish I'd taken before & after shots as it's so different to how it were, I've got my lovely tank back at last, thank you to the manafacturer & seller of these miracle granules.

This item was absolutely perfect for removing blue-green slime algae that had took hold in the aquarium. I had been removing this by hand and scrubbing the plants for years and thought I would give this a try.*On the container it says has no effect on fish but to keep oxygen levels up during the process.*I gave HALF the recommended dose for the first try and decided to see what happens from there...The next morning I had lost 2 Sterbai Corydoras, and by the following evening after multiple water changes a Denison Barb and 3 Congo Tetras followed.By the second day all was back to normal and the remaining fish appeared fine but the Algae didn't seem affected.I decided to do another partial water change and added the remaining half dose (this would have been the equivalent of the first dosage which on the container is recommended to be added again within 48 hours if nothing happened to the algae)10 days later and the aquarium is fully blue slime algae free, but also missing a few fish.I give this product 4 Stars because it does the job really well, but also its critical that if you have any pricy fish in the aquarium they are removed and put into a quarantine tank, and the levels monitored for the first few days.

ive had my betta/shrimp tank up and running for 5 yrs and always struggled with cyano, it had gone to the point were all my plants and wood were smothered in it and i felt the only thing left to do was strip tank and start again ive tried other products and every solution to balance this tank but nothing worked. This stuff is amazing on the first dose i wasnt sure i could see any difference so i dosed again after the 48hrs and i could definitely see improvement but it was still there so i waited a week as per instructions and did a third dose, this worked to clear all the remaining cyano out tank, so pleased, and there's plenty left for future outbreaks if it happens again as it only takes the smallest amount, the tub will last me a few years

Used product as per instructions . Added air stones before and during treatment. No sign of any difference after two days .did not dose again after 48 hours .Noticed on third day signs of speckling on plants , then gradual disappearance next day . Now after six days the blue green has 90% disappeared. It has definitely worked very well just took a little longer than instructed. May redose after seven days just to finish it off. Recommended

My cyanobacteria outbreak started during the hot summer of 2020. Ever since I have been trying to keep it under control with weekly 50 per cent water changes and more frequent filter servicing, but the issue still prevailed. I tried several other products from popular brands but none were effective until I came across Ultralife Blue-Green Slime Stain Remover. Within a week, all the cyanobacteria had vanished; I did a 50 per cent water change, vacuumed the gravel, and reapplied just to make sure. It has been well over a month now, and no sign of any cyanobacteria. No harm was done to flora and fauna. I have a 300-litre heavily planted aquarium. Seeing it slime free was great, as the plants were suffering. Very good product!

Should have bought this stuff first, cleared up my tanks cyanobacteria issue within 2 weeks. And plenty left should it ever flare up again.
