This is the ONLY one you want. None of the other lamps even come close. First of all it has a vertical support that comes up off the table where the clamp is. The rest of the lamp sits on top of this support, look at the photos. What this means is that the bulb will be up high and above your head. The light shines down on your work and you won't be bumping your head on it like all the other lamps. The quality is very good. Everything is adequate for the job - the springs are strong, the screw clamps hold tight which means you can position the lamp wherever you want and it won't sag down like most lamps do. Even the clamp, they put a little cushion in it so it won't mar your table. Everything about this lamp shows that the manufacturer thought things out and clearly wanted to make a strong and robust product. They even give you a very nice high quality LED bulb. Also, it is very well packaged. And in my opinion, very reasonably priced. Too bad more sellers aren't like this one.

I’ve been looking for a lamp design like this and it’s fantastic to use. Looks great too! The clamps could be a tad beefier considering the amount of movement this lamp may take.Build quality is okay however make sure the screw switch is tightly wound before operating.The included bulb is I would say is perfect for the brightness it had, which is what I need in the early morning to start work in my home office.Tension on the swing arms are great, but could be smoother. Time will tell if it does since it hasn’t had the chance to fully lubricate its joints yet.Not dimmable, just FYI! Straight on rotary on/off switch.

This was a great lamp. Really appreciated the extender that adds extra height, makes a difference. Positioning was easy and stayed in place, and I could even turn the lamp shade upright to have the light shine on my ceiling if I wanted less-direct lighting. Unfortunately for me the clamp couldn't hold onto my desk because of the desk design, so I had to return the lamp.

Good lamps, and I like the posts that raise the height of the swing arm. One of the two lamps I bought has a hood that would not turn clockwise (as instructions directed) to attach the hood to the socket base, so I do not know if it’ll stay together over time or not. I really tried hard to turn it so that it would attach, but could not get it to turn. So if that becomes an issue, I’ll revisit that in an updated review. The best part about the lamps is that I can put up to a 100 watt incandescent bulb in it, which most other lamps these days won’t allow for, which really irks me. So I am pleased with the lamp so far. Be careful and check any lamp’s rated wattage whatever lamps you are looking to buy. Obviously incandescent bulbs will be a different wattage than LED bulbs.

I'm very fussy and it took a couple of lamps, returns etc., before I finally got what I needed. This light reaches a long distance across your desk. It's not top quality, but does a good job, and I like how high it is above my desk and monitors. It has a nice clamp on rod that clamps to your desk so you can position it wherever you like. I would have liked to see an "inline switch" but it's not a big deal. Would recommend!

It's really hard to find clamp lamps that have good reviews. Believe me! This one has a lot of movement, which is something I needed. I especially wanted it to pivot around the clamp because I needed the lamp to go to the side. So this one fits that bill. Easy to put together and easy to use. It looks nice too.I did have a problem with flickering, but it was the light bulb (which I purchased separately because I wanted a daylight bulb). The one I tried was non-dimmable. I put in a dimmable bulb and it works fine. So I'd suggest getting dimmable bulbs for this lamp to avoid flickering. It's weird because as far as I know the lamp isn't dimmable, but okay.It seems to be built well. I haven't had any problems with things not staying in position. In my pic it looks a little bit off-kilter, but I think I just need to tighten the clamp.I was worried it would be too tall, but it's fine because of the other adjustable sections. Overall good purchase.

It's exactly what I needed though not as pretty as the one that didn't have the features I needed. Still, I wanted a drafting table lamp, that I could have attached to one spot on my desk and stretch, bend, twist, high and low to wherever I needed light. I really appreciate the extender rod which hoists the whole lamp up about 12 inches, that it extends and flexes up to 24" in any direction. The off/on switch is on the top of the lamp, no fooling with that little rollie switch attached to the cord that can easily fall behind the desk, and the shade attaches to the lamp base that is ventilated. The bulb is smaller than a standard light bulb. The labeling did not say if it was LED or not. I think, though I'm not sure, it would take an incandescent bulb too. One reviewer said it was not stable, but I find it very stable. I was also pleased that the clamp isn't bulky, does not protrude from the desk so the desk can be flush against the wall. Also the clamp accommodates the thickness of the metal and faux wood top of my desk with ease. (The pretty one had a clamp that was about 1/16' shy of being able to fit my desk.) It's plain black, and designed to be functional, no pretty stuff, but when it came to it I couldn't sacrifice functionality for frou-frou . It's a solid little lamp!

The clamp bracket is weak. It deforms as you tighten the clamp. It's very cheaply made in comparison to the desk clamped light I'm replacing. I'm keeping the box thinking that I'll return it. Don't buy.
