Ajinomoto Monosodium Glutamate Umami Seasoning/MSG【 454g / 1LB / 16oz 】

I bought Ajinomoto Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) specifically for making Korean-style salads, and it’s exactly what I needed. It adds that clean umami flavor that makes the taste deeper and more balanced. A little goes a long way, and it dissolves quickly and evenly in the dressing. The package arrived well sealed and fresh. Great quality and I’ll be buying again.

MSG is in many of the foods that you eat and you don't even realize it. It is still widely used by cooks because very few people have any side effects from MSG and the scare was way overblown years ago. It is a natural seasoning and adds flavor to many foods without you knowing that it is even there.

There's not much to say about this except that it's what it claims to be and it's cheap. The bag is kind of awful, I'd put it in a shaker or other container as soon as possible. But, well, there's no real issue of "freshness" here, it's literally just a specific chemical. MSG is incredibly useful in cooking, and I especially love putting it on popcorn. It makes things taste meaty in the best way possible. This is what it says on the tin, it's cheap for how much you get, so if you want a bunch of MSG, this is your product.

Excellent paquete

This is definitely MSG and it tastes great, but the individual crystals are the kind that are shaped like little shards and are not shaped like salt granules. I used this to refill my Accent (branded MSG in the US) shaker bottle, but these MSG granules can't fit through the holes. If you're hoping to put this in a little shaker, I would go with a different producer.

MSG as expected you will want a container to put it in after opening though.

For years I have used this seasoning, and even happier that I can keep an adequate supply by purchasing it on Amazon.
