Does not fit Rangemaster oven
This design is supposed a fantastic compromise between cooking performance (almost like copper for responsiveness, even heat spread all the way to the edges and heat storage), non stickiness (not quite Teflon but beats other steel) and low maintenance (everything is sealed with stainless steel and unlike Teflon which breaks down at 200c this can go to 350). But sautee pan has to fit in the oven - and for ones with non removable handles manufacturer need to test them in most common ovens. It fails to fit into my rangemaster oven by just under an inch. I’m gutted, but other than that it’s superb.

Waiting for it to heat up is worth it for the food quality and worth it for your health too! It doesn’t take long to wait if you time it with prepping or chopping. Learn how to use a stainless steel pan from one of the many tutorials on social media and your food will never stick again. If you burn something, scrub the heck out of it and don’t be worried about hurting the coating, because there isn’t one. Or let it sit overnight with some soapy water if you don’t want to scrub. And since I’m handing out cleaning tips, if there’s a stubborn stain or burn, don’t use barkeepers friend inside your pan if you can help it. Baking soda mixed with water works fine, but you do you. After using it a few times you might find that after washing, when the pan dries it might look greyish or dull. A little oil or pam or some oil spray wiped over it and it’ll be shining again (see photos of my larger size). The flawless chrome finish on the inside doesn’t last though, don’t be surprised! The lid fit is perfect. One caveat is that it’s heavy! no one tells you that because it’s a sauté pan, not the kind you flip around, but you do have to wash it! I hand wash because my dishwasher sucks and I’m preserving the pan to last for the rest of my life. But i have put the lid in the dishwasher and it comes out sparkling. BUY IT. Girl math, if you pass it down to your children then it saves them the cost of the pan, which means the full price of the pan is saved, right?

Best value for money. Better than copper.

I have two Demeyere John Pawson fry pans and they are absolutely the best in the world. This Pawson sauté pan is not. I knew it had a disk bottom and was not the same material on the sides, which Demeyere claims is better for the function of this pan, but unlike the fully clad fry pans, the pan feels flimsy. You can see the welds from the handles on the inside, and the handle actually flexes when it is picked up, and that is with nothing in it. I haven't used it yet, and I hope it performs as well as the fry pans. I was going to buy some Demeyere straight-sided sauce pans, and now I will not because they are of the same construction. Better function or not, for the money and for this type of pan, get an All-Clad copper core.

Rounding out the set owned. This seven layer pan is sturdy and solid. Good heating on gas. To keep truly clean bar keepers friend is recommended. Brings the pan back to the original shine. The indent on the handle is ideal for your thumb. Nice polished handles for easy cleanup.
