I was actually looking for a weighted stuffed animal for adults with ADHD/stress/anxiety. Ever since I got rid of my favorite pillow that was my emotional support for24 years, I didn't have a replacement, stopped sleeping on my back (with my pillow on my chest), and wanted something to cuddle when life gets hard. I used to hug my pillow and bury my face in it to calm my nerves. Yes, I could exercise to distract myself from difficulties, reduce stress, and completely tire me out, but even after cycling for hours, swimming till my eyes got black rings around them, and running a full marathon, I couldn't fall asleep when my ADHD brain was hyper-active. I never seemed to relax. When the stress at work (hospital) was steadily increasing, my ADHD and anxiety got worse. I began looking into a weighted stuffed animal that's cute, appealing, effective and of good quality. The quality of the fabric was important, too because I was going to put my face all over it. After enough time was spent for unsuccessful searches, I removed the word "weighted" - that's when this cute manatee popped up in the search result. When I saw this innocent little wrinkly face, I just couldn't resist. I always loved manatees, too. It was love at first sight. As much as I wanted a weighed one, I needed a cuddly emotional support before my next long weekend shift. So I ordered it via Amazon prime. It was supposed to be a temporary relief until I find the ONE. My manatee arrived quickly, and OMG it is SO CUTE and SO SOFT. Can't believe it's only $23!!! The weighted options were at least $45. I've been carrying my manatee around at work and let my coworkers cuddle it - they love it! As I am writing this review, I'm cuddljng it for the whole time. I don't even think I would need a weighted one any more. It's perfect. All I need now is a perfect name for my "support manatee"

The manatee, or sea cow has great meaning to me. It was one of my mother’s favorite animals. We tried to visit the manatee when mom & dad could handle the trip, when we visited them in Florida. Mom especially loved to watch the mama manatees with their babies — heartwarming & always brought a smile to mom’s beautiful face. Mom left us 13 years ago, but those gentle giants will always hold a special connection to my mom. When my stuffed manatee arrived from Amazon, I immediately thought “oh, how childish of me at 67 to buy myself a stuffed animal!” But on second look, I chuckled, & my heart melted as I realized how much she reminded me of my Mom. So maybe I am childish, but this beautiful stuffed replica of a manatee will forever remain with me, reminding me of my wonderful, sweet Mom & times we shared with the manatee. And my manatee has a new name, BETTY JANE as she is now named after my mom. This is the perfect size stuffed animal, soft & cuddly, perfect for most any age.

Morgan is a wonderful addition to my kiddos manatee stuffie collection. Son loves the detail on his flippers, squishiness and size (almost 2 ft long!). Super soft as well. If you or your loved one can't get enough of manatees, this one is a hit.

In November I went into the hospital for some serious surgery - a good friend told to bring a stuffed animal, I thought she was nuts, I'm a grown man who hasn't had a stuffed animal in decades, not that I have anything against them in fact quite the opposite, I think they're charming - if you're eleven. She assured me it could make a difference, so as I'm shopping on Amazon for a few things I needed to bring along to the hospital, I typed in "stuffed manatee" because I'm partial to sea cows and viola there he was and I'm happy to have him. I named him Harley after my Bulldog and just like my Bulldog I smile every time I see this funny looking guy. Very plush and well made, solid stitching and a really nice attention to detail abounds - he's weights in certain places with tiny beads which help him to stay in whatever position you put him in and because of his length of 17 inches he makes just about the best neck pillow you'll ever find and still to this day when I read in bed I put him to work. Everyone needs a stuffed Manatee even if they don't realize it so that said, I can assure that regardless of age should you choose to bring Morgan The Manatee home - you'll never regret it.
