Great machine
I've had this TENS unit for nearly a year now and it is a life saver! I mostly use it for period pain but I've used it for lower back and knee pain too and while it doesn't completely stop the pain it helps alot! I injured my back a few weeks ago and was almost unable to walk without this. It's easy to use, albeit there's so many programs that it's hard to remember which is which unless you use the manual, but the diagram on the screen of which body part each program is for is helpful. I really like the heat function, I feel it isn't as effective without it so I'd definitely spend the extra money for this version. The battery life is good although it does need recharging after 4-5 uses depending on which program you're using, so bear that in mind if you have chronic pain, but it charges fairly quickly so I wouldn't say it's too much of a problem. It's also usable on the go and you can wear it under your clothes and attach the controller part to a waist band or belt, but it is visible and the wires can get in the way a bit. Would recommend!

Seems to work
Does the job. I've used this 6 times on my ankle for a ligament injury and seems to be helping with the swelling and the pain. Has lots of functions which is great. The gel pads are past half their life after 6 uses and I doubt it will last for 20 as described and they're not cheap to replace. But if it works, it's cheaper than paying a clinic to have this done. The heat function is also great. Happy I went for the more expensive model for this. One complaint is that sometimes the pulses cut off even though the device is still showing as working. Seems to happen if my EMS ended and I want to start a Massage. unplugging and re-plugging the pads seems to do the trick but if it continues to do this might have to warranty it.

Excellent option
Very good value compared to others on the market. Huge range of options for TENS and EMS which is what attracted me to this one. Easy to use and simple guidance in the book. Advanced options seem very complex but I haven't needed these. Belt clip is a bit of a waste of time as the cables are quite long and need to be bundled up in a pocket or lie beside you. I ended up wrapping them with an elastic band. Sticky pads are a consumable and need to be kept clean. If they get dusty they soon lose their sticky. Get them stuck together and you'll struggle to separate them! Regardless, pads will only last a while before the won't stick so bear this in mind - you need a supply if this is a regular use for you. I've been using it 2/3 times a week and the pads have lasted about 3 months. Can get replacements elsewhere on Amazon at very reasonable prices. Battery life seems very good - still on the originals 3 months in. If you need or are considering a TENS / EMS machine, this is an excellent option.

Pads are awful! (Device with heat function)
The pads for this machine are awful. They don’t stick very well at all. I have tried purchasing some new gel pads as with this model you only replace the sticky gel but they are just as bad. I have even tried a special TENs machine spray to see if that helps but no joy at all! I personally think it’s just a bad design as they are a stiffer pad compared to the old school fabric backed ones. Combined with the fact you only replace the gel rather than the whole pad, the whole design just seems like Beurer were trying to cash in on a new design, where consumers are almost forced into buying more expensive gel replacements. The heat function is very nice thoug, but I do think this may also add to the poor adhesiveness of the pads, as it may dry them out? It’s not the sole problem as I had issues without using the heat function. Finally the battery life is pretty poor and then takes a while to charge up. Only lasts a few hours and then seems to need several hours change to be able to use it again. I had high hopes for this product but there are some serious issues that need addressing before it is practical. I have now purchased the cheaper white model with the old style pads and without the heat function and have had no problems at all

Good but let down by loose connection
This is a good product that works very well - plenty of different options of programs and the wires and pads are robust. However, the device connection to the wires is oddly stiff AND comes loose easily. This means you can't use it attached to a belt because it comes loose and the device stops working. Restarting it means going through the steps of programming it again and when you do, it beeps every time you press a button so that gets old quickly.

AVID TENS USER
I had for years the Kinetix wellbeing Tens machine which served me well until it died. I decided to google the best tens machines out there and bought the top two. 1) VitalTrack 2) Beurer EM49 ( I bought the EM59 because it’s the upgraded version with more pros then the EM49) VitalTrack: - Company absolute nightmare to deal with - Number of programmes are not as extensive as the beurer -Biggest gripe has to be that it’s not rechargeable and solely battery operated -Pads are not sticky and they don’t sell replacement pads or gel bits anywhere. -Returning the item within 30 days has been a nightmare and they have a 90day return policy. I’ve had to go through PayPal for them to communicate with me. Even just asking a question I got no response. Beurer EM59: -Company is okay to deal with especially as we have Amazon to help us. -The item is phenomenal for the range of programs it offers, I feel like I never got the full Tens machine offer when I had the kinetik as that was basic but served its purpose. -The heat level isn’t going to be that of a waterbottle or heat pad but it’s soothing and that’s all you need. -Pain relief after using the item is amazing. -It’s easy to use - Gripe with this product is; say I just wanted to use two pads and not four, it won’t come on. - or because the sticky pads are not sticky enough it falls off, I guess it turns off for safety reasons but it’s annoying. -Battery life isn’t amazing or extremely poor just not long enough for me Now the thing I loved about my old kinetik tens machine is that the pads were sticky to the point I only replaced them after 5 years and the sticky pads are not expensive to replace. It came with a carry case. And the battery lasted ages. Obviously it’s a very basic tens machine. But I do expect more for the more pricier ones on the market. For those wondering the difference between the EM49 and EM59 EM49 is battery operated and does not offer the heat option. I think everything else is the same. So if you’re not bothered about having to use batteries and not have heat then you can save a few pennies and get the 49 model. I think the 49 model pads look much better than the 59.
