Excellent
I thought I may be emailed the Licence number but it is a card in the mail via Amazon. A lot of reviews are saying it is expensive but the Surveillance Station software is amazing. Plus it is £20 cheaper on Amazon. It is a lifetime Licence, lasts forever, even if you swap out your NAS.The card has a QI code which puts the Licence number into your browser so you can copy & paste it, that was a nice touch. After adding the extra Licence I had to close and reopen the IP Camera module but that was minor and the only glitch.I have used many other PC based apps and they have either ran at 100% CPU or crashed my disks, so I’m more than happy with Synology.

Just perfect for my Reolink Cameras
All works fine with exception of cameras RLC-810A with firmware Version v3.1.0.764_21121703 recently updated by Reolink. Workaround until Synology decides to update preinstalled profile: usen ONVIF, Port 8000 instead of pre-programed RLC-810A profile and it will work straight away.

40+ quid for a cam license for a domestice users?
3 Stars because I like Synology enclosures, unfortunately there is no alternative (Qnap is even worse with licensing!), if I would review the product itself then it would get 1 star. Synology did not even bother to supply plastic card with the license code (considering domestic users will move license from time to time and keep card safe), just the thin cardboard... 40 +quid for a domestic user is a lot... Now my personal rating for Synology dropped from 10/10 to 8/10, it looks like they are starting providing more rubbish with cloud and app licenses. If it will go in this direction I will just build my FreeNAS, end of the story...

Overpriced but no choice if you need to add another camera
Headline says it all. It you use a Synology NAS with Surveillance Station and need to add another camera you need additional licence(s).Anyway, the Synology is a great NAS so I suppose.......
