Useful
I used it for taking out a pencil from a/c vent of my car. With the first attempt it was successful.

Saved me from a plumber visit
After having someone run an auger through the bathroom sink the kitchen one started backing up. Not wanting to ask for help again I removed the p-trap from the kitchen sink (which has a weirdly extended gray water pipe running through the bottom cabinets from a renovation project decades ago) and ran this through first. Basically everything that was slowing the bathroom sink upstairs ended up in here and I had an afternoon discovering the bad habits the previous tenants routinely tried to hide. After wads of hair the size of a rat, boozy bottle caps, a soggy bottle rocket, and a small plastic baggie of WhoKnowsWhat was all dragged out my plumbing has never run smoother. A profoundly wise investment.

It works
This does work. The small grappler comes out but you really need to squeeze hard which for me hurst the reason for 4 stars and not 5. I have been needing this for quite some times especially when working on cars and you drop something in a very difficult spot to access. I would still say this is pretty good despite having to press the handle in so hard.

that it works
I have not had an instance yet where I need it to retrieve something but It looks good in my toolbox.

It unlocked my Honda Odyssey
I installed a battery disconnect on my Honda Odyssey because of an uncorrected parasitic load that resulted too often in a dead battery. And the key has never worked in the door. But I always left the car unlocked when I disconnected the battery. Until last week. The door was locked. I worked for hours without success. Then I watched YouTube videos. Eventually I realized that a grabber like this might work. Wonderfully, it did. The diameter is large for my needs but in the end I got the lock pulled up and I got into the vehicle. Next time I will leave the window down an inch when I disconnect the battery.

It is long...
Used it on my flag pole (17) foot, taped it to a 10 foot pole and with a small ladder, I was able to pull the cord that holds flag back down from the pulley...
