Yes it is. Our product are 100% brand new and are genuine Milwaukee battery. We buy in bulk quantity so sometimes it does not come in original packaging. But I can assure you they are 100% brand new and are from Milwaukee.

Does this work for a Milwaukee lantern? If so, how long will it last before before it needs to be charged?

(Yes and that depends) Yes it works with 2 types of M12 lights (1. M12 LED Stick Light 2351-20) and (2. M12 LED Lantern/Flood Light 2362-20) Now you said Lantern so i'm guessing you mean the 2362-20 which has Four Light Settings: High, Medium, Low, Strobe. Run times are base on the XC 4.0 Extended Capacity Battery Pack. Low 67 Lumens 67 Hrs Run Time, Medium 200 Lumens 15 Hrs Run Time and High 400 Lumens 8 Hrs Run Time. Hope this Helps Good Luck. :)

Will this battery really increase the power of my tools? Specifically the M12 5/8" cordless circular saw.

Under heavy load yes the larger capacity allows the tool to draw more amperage resulting in slightly more power without stalling out the blade.

Don't this battery fits on milwaukee mlw255721 3/8 inch m12 fuel ratchet auto kit ?

As far as I know, all of the M12 batteries are interchangeable. We have 1 tool with 3 different size batteries. We use this tool in our business and have run it hard for over a year with no problems...

File down the side clips before inserting battery.

This is my backup battery for my chainsaw. First thing I did was to take my Dremel tool and grind down the side clips to make it easier to remove from the tool. I did the same with the original battery unit after many frustrations attempting to remove the battery. Milwaukee needs to fix that problem.
