What is the size around the hook itself? I have to find something to hang multiple sheets of paper with a holes that are .25" wide. Would these work?

If I understand correctly, I would say yes. I used them to hold up ALL of my heavy-duty stainless steel measuring cups on one hook and they have been holding perfectly for months now.

Can this be placed inside the shower? Will it stay with water

I didn't install these inside but I did use other adhesive hooks for a squeegee without an issue. Just set the sticker and let it sit for a while before getting wet.
