The people leaving bad reviews apparently don't know what '100% Organic Licorice' means. Almost all the licorice *candy* you buy has wheat added, sugar added, salt added, ammonium chloride (salmiak salt) added, etc. etc. But *this* is what pure licorice - or rather the dried extract of the root - actually tastes like. It's obviously not to everyone's taste, but I use it for brewing beer, which it's perfect for - and I can actually suck on one of these. It lingers for a looong time!And yes, it's expensive, because it takes a ton of licorice root to make this much concentrated extract. And it's not 95% cut with wheat, salt, sugar, etc. etc. like all the licorice candies you buy are.You just have to understand what you're buying. If you can't handle 100% pure concentrated licorice, buy some licorice candies!

If you like the bitter taste of black licorice—with no sweetness and no chewiness, you might like these. These are tiny hard “candies.” I like the initial flavor but never got through one completely. I love the concept, and if they had been a little less bitter perhaps I could have tolerated or even enjoyed them more.

These are a convenient way to take licorice as a supplement. (Be extremely careful though if you’re over 45, have heart issues, electrolyte issues or kidney problems - people have literally killed themselves with licorice.) I like that they’re sugar free and good for oral health. The flavor is extremely herbal and strong and has some bitterness. It’s like chewing on the root itself I imagine… if you can hang with that then go for it.

If you want something to entertain your mouth harmlessly or are replacing a habit you want to quit these are such a great thing! They’re a bit pricey, but they last a very long time. When I’m fighting cravings I end up having about 7 little bits a day, sometimes less. they aren’t like candy, you won’t want to have more than one at once. I love the taste, but I know it wouldn’t be for everyone. Like all the other reviews say, if you’re wanting a sugary sweetness this is not the thing! It’s strong and tastes just like like molasses, sweet in the way that molasses is, there’s a bit of a iron taste in there too that took getting used to.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love them. The mint is very detectable, and blends well with the strong licorice taste. If your taste buds are attuned to offbeat flavors, then you might like this. People who want CANDY might not enjoy this as much as I do. THERE ARE NO ARTIFICIAL OR NATURAL SWEETNERS - just the taste of pure mint and licorice.Another thing I like about this product is that it makes a really effective cough suppressant. Since I am diabetic and suffer from frequent colds, this takes the place of sugary cough drops that ultimately leave me sicker. I have a large supply for this purpose, because it is the only losenge that relieves a cough without the added problems of sugar or artificial sweeteners.One note about the price: I purchased this item because it was cheaper than a similar product by Zagarese Licorice, but when it arrived, I realized that these little boxes are about 1/2 the size of the Zagarese Licorice. Zagarese is a better bargain, and is almost exactly the same product. It was my own fault for not closely reading the ads, but an unpleasant surprise all the same. Next time I will buy Zagarese (which is also available on Amazon)! Zagarese is very similar to Zot, but one difference is that Zot has a stronger mint taste. Otherwise, they are almost exactly the same.

One star is only because the couldn’t be submitted otherwise. 1st these are very Toney boxes, they are similar in size to tic-tac’s. 2nd these are very hard and crumbly. And lastly these are the nastiest things I ever tried. The taste is indescribable and vomit 🤮 inducing.If I didn’t know better I’ll thing it was poison ☠️.This taste absolutely nothing like licorice, nothing at all like licorice.

I bought these to use as party favors and I was surprised at the strong flavor. I was expecting chewy candy. These are tiny hard 'rocks'. Not chewy at all and VERY strong flavor
