Clairol Nice'n Easy Permanent Hair Dye, 4 Dark Brown Hair Color, 3 Count

I received this product from Clariol to try for free. I was very happy with how easy it was to use. This was my first time dying my hair on my own (with a little help from my husband to get the back) and it was much easier then I expected it to be. The instructions were very easy to follow and it was easy to apply.I have very thick, long hair so I bought a second box to ensure I had enough color to cover it all. I've always used two boxes in the past when others have dyed my hair. I was amazed with how far the first box went. It covered almost my entire head of hair. I used the second box to finish my tips, mostly because I had already mixed it up and didn't want it to go to waste. I used only a very small amount of the second box though and one box would have probably been good enough. It was also very gentle on my sensitive scalp and was not irritating at all.The main thing I look for in a good hair dye is natural looking color that covers my grays. This product worked great. I love the way the color turned out. I choose one shade darker then my natural share of brown and it looks great. When I first rinsed my hair, after coloring it, I was a little nervous there was too much of a purple undertone but once it dried the color was perfect. My grays are gone and it looks so natural. I love that there are highlights and lowlights included. They multi toned color makes for a more natural look.But the thing I love the most about Nice 'N Easy was the way it left my hair feeling. The Colorseal conditioner is amazing! My hair is so soft and shiny now. It's the softest it has felt in months. In the past hair dyes have left my hair feeling dry and brittle, but not this product. My hair doesn't feel damaged at all from being color treated.This is a great product that I would definitely recommend to others. It does exactly what it says and the color looks beautiful. I absolutely love the way my hair looks and feels after using Clariol Nice 'N Easy Permenant Hair color.

You wouldn't think there's much innovation to be had with hair dye, especially considering the end goal is pretty much the same for all products. Side benefits like making hair shiny, having the color last longer, and not causing one's head to itch like crazy or smell awful are all bonuses. That's why I like Nice 'n Easy: there's a great selection of colors that gets the job done, with minimal mess or fuss.Sure, this isn't their foaming version (FYI, never trust the image on a box of foaming hair color. Hair color foam is never white) which is easier to apply evenly, but it does the job quite well, provided you follow the instructions. What's odd is that this dark brown shade looks purple coming out of the bottle and as you rinse it out, but it darkens to its "true color" by the time you're done. If you use Vaseline or cold cream, it shouldn't stain your skin too badly; I was able to get a few drips off with just some regular hand soap and water and a washcloth.The color lasts over a month for me, and it covers grays well. The real bonus with this particular brand and formula is the Deep Conditioning Gloss that comes with it--and it's also sold separately! It's easily the best conditioner I've ever used, and makes combing my hair post-shower a breeze.That you can buy this using Amazon's Subscribe-and-Save program makes this an even better winner!

Great product to cover grey hair!Couple of things that I like:1. Product design: separate bottles and easy to use! Love the conditioner! Wish I could buy it separately and use it on a regular basis2. Scent is Ok. No bad smell like in some other productsOverall, it’s quite similar to the L’Oréal hair color product and similar price range. I always stock up when there’s a promotion. Used it for a few years and still like it

After trying the new formula, which was labeled dark brown but came out JET BLACK, I searched for some of the old formula to try to restore my hair to a normal shade. That's what I thought I was buying here, a 3 pack of natural dark brown, that's what the picture showed. What showed up instead? A 3 pack of the new, awful formula. Moreover, before I bought the product, I checked it could be returned. I even took a screenshot of the page stating that the product is returnable. Unfortunately (and misleadingly) it's not. Upon trying to return it, the page stated that the item (which had been mailed to me) was too flammable to be mailed. I'm not sure what's going on with Clairol, but it's a mess. I'll never buy their products again. Thankfully, Amazon customer service gave me a refund and told me to donate the product. I wouldn't dump this stuff on another human being. It's going in the trash.

Product did cover the grey areas but had a strong smell left on that stayed for several days, had to rewash it again to remove the odor
