I live in Alaska and have lots of experience with outdoors and power failures. This light is just over the top important to own. I keep it in the car........ at -38F actual temp I tested it - worked perfect! It's ability to charge your phone or other devices - priceless.

Performance
I liked the intensity levels, the extreme brightness to can with the spot light, and the battery life is amazing for the power of the light.

Very bright. Comes with a holster.
About the 3 star review... I just charged it with my DJI 100W charger with no problems. (Except it did take over 4 hours to charge it.) So it doesn't take fast charge at all. Also was concerned that the stickers that tape the box closed were MISSING. I'm guessing this was to include the "cable organizer" which is actually a battery organizer. So I don't really believe this is a true FENIX store. It's very bright. Not sure about value yet. Functionality is pretty cool with the rotating switch. It's heavy, but as long as it runs for as long as it claims, it's fine. Especially when it comes with a nice holder.

Built-in battery (proprietary)
I have multiple Fenix Lights and multiple of the original lr40r. Astonishingly powerful and reliable. The special trick of the original lr40r is that the batteries are interchangeable and it also takes 18650 batteries. In fact it can run off one 18650. The battery pack was essentially four of them combined. If the battery started to fail you could just put new batteries in.Not so with the new version. The 2.0 has a built-in proprietary battery. When it dies, the light dies. Extremely disappointing for this line of torches. It's a deal-breaker for me and hopefully this company learns from this and doesn't cheap out with their next version. I really hope they don't sell any of these lights, this is bad news for those of us wanting unnecessarily powerful flashlights.Previously this was the gold standard. But no longer. You can still buy the original discontinued version straight from the company at a discount.*Not anymore. I attempted to find one so I could purchase the old version but they are no longer available. And an era of my life comes to an end.

Battery design is a disgrace
It is a Fenix flashlight so the quality of built is great. Brightness and beam distance are very close to what were advertised (slightly better or worse in different settings). However the flashlight has a few drawbacks all of which related to battery design, which is not good for a device that was released in 2023!First, it takes 4 hours in best case scenario to recharge the battery. Similar batteries in other up-to-date flashlights and devices can be charged in about half of this time. Second, the battery is very finicky about what type of usb-c charger and cable you are using. If it is a 10 or 12W charger it will never charge beyond 1 light (out of 5). If the charger is more than 20W it won't charge either. You need a charger that is exactly 18W and even then a cable that the flashlight likes. So much finickiness completely negates any supposed flexibility you may expect from having a flashlight that can be charged by usb-c because you have to carry the exact charger and cable that this flashlight likes everywhere you go for search, camping, hunting, a trip or whatever else you do. You cannot charge with a car usb-c outlet and most likely not with any combination of usb-c chargers and cables you find in your friends' or family's home or backpack! And the list of flaws with battery design is not over. The third flaw is the power bank feature, the output of this battery as a power bank is less than 8W. That's one decade behind tech. And finally, this flashlight has a built-in proprietary battery. That's not a flaw per se. Many manufacturers do that recently because it lets them provide features or durability that they otherwise cannot provide, and I am personally fine with it. However when I see how many essential features this battery pack has missed, then being a built-in proprietary battery becomes another negative point.I wanted to like this, because I don't like the not-so-bright and absurdly designed square throw and lack of dust proofing on Marauder 2. Fenix LR40R V2 could be a great alternative. I still consider its performance and build quality better than Marauder 2 but I have a hard time convincing myself keeping this flashlight.
