Good reinforcement
I make my 3rd grader reread it every time she learns a different piece of punctuation so she realizes why each one is important in a fun way.

I thought it would be a better story and be missing more punctuation creating confusion to show kids why punctuation is important. Instead it was just puns about what punctuation does that was more confusing to the kids I teach than helpful

Punctuation Takes a Vacation
This is a great way to introduce a lesson on grammar. I had this book several years ago when I was in grad school and I used it for a teaching lesson. I decided to buy this book again because I misplaced it when I moved. This is a cute book and a fun way to introduce grammar.

Great Book for Helping "Punctuation" Come Alive
Not so thrilled. I made a mistake in my ordering and ordered a paperback version as opposed to the hardback version. :( Great teaching tool; very fun, but as a paperback, will have to be used sparilngly.

Comments about missing semicolons and colons
This book is intended for young children, not adults. With over 35 years of teaching adults about semicolons (notice that the word has no hyphen) and colons, I know the rules governing the use of these marks can be a bit intimidating, if not confusing. Let's let the kids learn a little bit at a time--and make it fun. That's what this book does.

A fun story highlighting the importance of good punctuation
I found the story engaging and fun, with the quirky illustrations adding to the experience. I thought that the unruly punctuation from the class next door was a great way to point out the importance of using punctuation correctly. The short reference at the end was just about perfect for my children, short and to the point, with no extraneous "except in certain situations" to have to worry about.

Bought for Punctuation Week at school
This was OK. I wouldn't rave about it. It did the job! I wasn't keen on the illustrations. My 4/5 year olds that I teach didn't ask for a repeat!
