Held up in a hurricane and straight-line winds!
I purchased this mesh tarp because a review I saw where it was used for shade on a balcony. I too, used mine for shade on my newly built deck with a roof. This mesh tarp is almost indestructible. I live in NC about 2 hours from the coast and Hurricane Debby (2024) nor her tornado winds were able to pull or rip it. It not only blocks the sun while still allowing you to see through it, but it also blocks about 50% of the rain (at the angle I have it hanging - not over plants). I would highly recommend this product for both your garden and your patio/deck. I paid $40 for a blue tarp that was ripped to shreds from the wind. I will be buying more of these.

Works perfectly
I bought 3 of these for a DIY patio cover, one for the top and two for the east and west sides. Easy to install, looks good and makes a huge temperature difference in the South Carolina summer. The top is on all of the time unless the winds are crazy strong, the sides are drawn back like window curtains and are used when the sun is rising/setting.

Way smaller than expected
It was way smaller than expected but I guess I anticipated different regardless of measurements for some reason. I’m usually pretty good about that but idk. The smallest size they have is about the size of covering a dog bed. It is good quality though, I did put it over half of my raised garden. It lets sun through but also protects the plants from too much direct light.

Nice shade cloth 4.8+ stars
I put this shade cloth over my pergola this weekend and spent some time sitting under it. When I purchased it I wondered if it would provide enough shade or be too dark, but it was perfect for me. It also allowed the breeze to come through which is an added benefit. I love that it has grommets so I could attach it to the pergola in multiple places, which I did using bungee cords. My prior cover had a metal bar inserted into each end which didn't hold it down well in the wind.I would reduce this from 5 stars to 4.8+ for two reasons, both of which have to do with visual appeal. The grommets seem to have one side nicer than the other, but the nicer side of the grommet isn't consistently on the same side of the shade cloth. And the reinforcement tape around the edge (which I'm grateful for) meets in a spot that is pretty visible. It does feel like plastic, as expected, but I don't plan to touch it often.I purchased this 10'x16' shade cloth for $17.99 (on sale near the end of the summer) and feel like I got great value for the money.

Suitable for short-term or casual use
Initial Impressions: For beginners looking to experiment with a greenhouse, the Shade-Cloth-70% seems like a budget-friendly option. It offers decent temperature control and shade, which can be beneficial for protecting plants.Durability Issues: However, the sturdiness of this product is questionable, especially in harsher climates like Texas. A single heavy rain can lead to significant damage, as evidenced by the reviewer's experience of the corners coming out. This requires additional effort to repair and continue using the greenhouse.Overall Assessment: While the Shade-Cloth-70% may be suitable for short-term or casual use, it's important to consider its durability limitations, particularly in areas prone to inclement weather. For those seeking a more robust and long-lasting greenhouse solution, investing in a sturdier structure might be a better option.

70% dark, it’s good 👍
I love it because it's dark from the outside in, but you can see out better from the inside, and at night you can see if you have a light on. I put it on my porch, and I like it because it doesn't get as wet when it rains; it's 70% dark.

Used on an outdoor cabana
We are in a very sunny, dry and hot location. We set up our "cabana" and purchased this shade cloth for blocking the sun. I was a little worried that the cloth was too thin when I first saw it, but not the case. This shade cloth is perfect. It is not too dense and allows for some air to go through it. We attached it easily using the grommets provided on the cloth. We did modify it a little by adding a piece of PVC pipe to the bottom, attached by zip ties using the provided grommets so that we could roll up the shade cloth during windy days. This shade cloth blocks most of the sun and does help to lower the temperature in the cabana. Glad I purchased this one.
