I purchased to help me change some rad valves without draining down. I have a central heating system with a make up tank in the loft. (It is not a pressurised type system) On my system the make up pipe from the tank happens to be in 22mm. So the inside part of the brass tank connector in the make-up tank is slightly bigger bore than the inside of a 22mm pipe itself. Many systems will be like this. The largest 22mm part of the bung is not big enough to seal a 22mm tank connector. I ended up winding some elec insulating tape around the 22mm end of the bung to make it slightly bigger. I might as well have made something up from scratch rather than pay £13 quid. I assumed that the taper of the 22mm bung would be big enough to cater for a 22mm tank connector. I thought wrong. It’s a shame because the silicone is great and better than hard rubber.

I think it is a great addition to my plumbing toolbox it saved me from draining my water tank in the attic,made it a lot easier to fit my new sink in the bathroom

I bought these because I wanted to change my kitchen hot tap without draining the system. They did exactly what I wanted, one on the overflow into the tank, one in the outlet to the hot water cylinder and job done. Wet arm while fitting the one inside the tank was a small price to pay for convenience. Less than half an hour to do everything including climbing into the loft again to remove them. Excellent product.
