The usual NIS quality
Lives up to the quality games NIS brings to us. If you like other NIS/Falcom/Marvelous games you will likely enjoy this.

Would've been better as a visual novel..
So if you do not know anything about Utawarerumono, which is a anime series, skip this game. You will not get anything out of this endeavor and there are far better rpgs out there to enjoy. I know, I know, it has NIS' name attached to it, but as merely the publisher, don't assume that means this game will be good. The story is decent if you have a investment into prior Utawarerumono VN games, like Mask of Deception/Truth and is a prequel into Oshtor's youth. Everything else sucks, gameplay is very rudimentary turn based combat that I've seen RPG maker games do better, I stg. The visuals are very lackluster, with anyone who isn't a main character is a polygon mess that looks like something out of a early ps2 game. It's not worth it, the story is the only worthwhile thing this game has to offer. If you are willing to suffer through the grindy turn based, subpar combat, you will find a decent story.PS. I am not dunking on the combat/gameplay merely because it is turn based, I love turn based rpgs. But the battle mechanics and UI are just extremely simplified and bland.
