I had a Furiden straightener that I absolutely loved but it finally died after several years of use, so I bought this one as a replacement. It’s just as good as my old one. As someone with super curly & thick hair I use this straightener for my bangs and to touch up little pieces. Unfortunately about 6 months into using it, one of the heating plates stopped working. I reached out to customer service and their response was incredibly fast and generous. Having had poor experiences with other companies in the past who couldn’t care less, it was super refreshing to email a team that backs their product and cares about their customers.

I needed a new flat iron for my Ethnic hair, so I began combing through pages and pages of them on Amazon. (I’m black, by the way, and for those who go by hair texture, I have a combo of 3C and 4A hair that Loooooves to Loc if you LOOK at it the wrong way!) There were some decent choices, many of which I had seen before, but I wasn’t looking to spend over $50 (though I know you get what you pay for). I came across this one and looked at the price- more than $50. Hmmm.... I did, however, LOVE the look of the product. So I decided to head straight to the most important section of the page: the Photo reviews. I was actually shocked to see so many different hair types and textures represented! And the fact that their hair ALL looked amazing made the product look almost too good to be true! I mulled over the price again and decided to bite the bullet. I told my husband I was going to be spending a little more than expected because I HAD to try this product and see if it worked as well as everyone said. From the time I opened the Amazon box and saw the product box itself , I was blown away! The presentation of the product- from the box to the included accessories (hair clips, rat tail comb, heat glove)- was remarkable! The small, but significant details (locking clip, swivel cord, Velcro closure) made this product a huge step above the rest. But as they say, the proof is in the pudding.... Trying this hair straightener for the first time made my jaw drop! I literally jumped up and down, then called my husband to come see the beautiful straightening job/curls it had made! I thought I had owned quality straighteners BEFORE, but apparently not! This straightener is the first I’ve ever owned that allowed me to straighten my hair using UNDER 400 degree heat- and still look amazing!! Sleek Design- Doesn’t Pull Hair- Ability to use Less Heat- For what more could I ask?!? You NEED to purchase this straightener! Your will Hair thank you! My decision to purchase this flat iron was based on ease of use and how quickly it heats up and price. I did include the extended warranty. This is my second purchase my previous one lasted 6 years. I’m hoping for a repeat. My only concern was shipping it arrived in its box and packed in a large envelope. Packages endure an awful lot of tossing and so forth that could add to damage of appliance. Perhaps they should be packed in a box.

I was so excited to get this, so excited to try it, and now I’m so excited to return it. I have a perfectly good flat iron I’ve been using forever, and I have an abundance of curling and waving irons. But I wanted to try a straightener that could also curl my hair. This one popped up on several lists, got pretty decent reviews, and wasn’t expensive. But I’m unimpressed. If I currently had a need for a straightener, I’d probably hang on to it; it’s functional enough for this, but you can probably get the same results from a straightener half the price. But since I was interested in the looser, wavy curls that straighteners produce, it’s not really of use to me. I’m not hair tool illiterate. I followed the instructions provided and I understand the basic principles of how to create curls with a straightener. For me, the floating plates and rounded barrel just made my hair slide off every time it was wrapped and I started to drag it. I think this could be remedied by holding the outside of the iron together at the top, and a heat resistant glove is provided, but the barrel is hot and I’m not going to put on a glove every time I style my hair. For reference, I have medium-thick weight, loosely-waved hair. It holds curl well and generally cooperates, but the best I got was a very subtle wave/flip at the very ends of my hair. This was with the iron on its hottest setting. I found the rounded barrel design initially appealing, and I had no troubles with hair snagging. Personally, I’m going to move on to an iron with plates I can hold the outsides, because there was not enough tension from these ones without holding it with a second hand. If you’re buying this to curl your hair, I think you can do better elsewhere, but it’s alright as a flat iron alone.

Updated review: The seller contacted me and resolved my issue by giving a full refund. Though i didn't have good luck with this product this time, I will still purchase from them in the future because I know they will make it right if the product doesn't work properly. Original review: (1star) After receiving this hair straightener it worked as great as expected. But after 5 uses one of the plates stopped heating. I unfortunately didn't use it often enough so I've already passed the " return date". So I would just really like to get an exchange for one that isn't malfunctioning. I'm just very disappointed as I have purchased this same item in the past and it lasted me years before it started acting up ( my old one doesn't like to stay off unless unplugged) I am very happy with this hair straightener otherwise, IF IT DOESN'T MALFUNCTION. If the seller decides to do the right thing and offer me an exchange, I would happily change my review to 5 stars or more if i could. It just sucks spending hard earned money on something that doesn't work like you know it's supposed to.
