Season 2 Masterful, beguiling and charismatic, Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his equally ambitious wife Claire (Robin Wright) continue their ruthless rise to power in Season 2 of "House of Cards". Behind the curtain of power, sex, ambition, love, greed and corruption in modern Washington D.C. the Underwoods must battle threats past and present to avoid losing everything. As new alliances form and old ones succumb to deception and betrayal, they will stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy. Season 3 In Season 3 of “House of Cards”, President Underwood fights to secure his legacy. Claire wants more than being the first lady. The biggest threat they face is contending with each other. This Emmy-winning original thriller series stars Golden Globe winner Kevin Spacey as ruthless, cunning Francis Underwood, who will stop at nothing to conquer the halls of power in Washington D.C. His secret weapon: his gorgeous, ambitious, and equally conniving wife Claire (Golden Globe winner Robin Wright). Special Features: - “Politics For The Sake Of Politics” featurette - “Direct Address” featurette - “Two Houses” featurette - Table Read - “Line Of Succession” featurette - “Backstage Politics: On The Set Of “House Of Cards” featurette Review: Does honour to original idea. - We love Ian Richardson English original of dark political drama....wonderful. American remakes do not always work but this does no disservice to its inspiration. This is American politics and thus is an adaptation of a great idea but claims an atmosphere and quality all of its own. Great acting, sensible use of the asides to camera and thus we are enjoying this and will watch the UK original again after! Neither eclipses the other and we really recommend this...except everybody else has already seen it!!! Great stuff Review: Easy to Watch, Great Video and Sound Quality and Great Acting - This set has it all! - After waiting for this product to come on sale for the last 6 months, I couldn't believe it when Prime Day came around and saw the value for money this was. So where to begin? House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara to name a few of the cast is the story of a U.S Chief Whip and his plans to dominate The White House. He's daring, ambitious and whilst his ruthless behaviour would be seen by many as scandalous, you can't help but like him! Whilst he believes he is invisible, his past slowly creeps up on him as the serious goes on, and you wonder if he will ever be able to get away with his 'crimes'. Now moving on, the video and audio quality is exceptional as you would expect from a Blu-Ray collection, and the audio matches it. Each Blu-Ray series comes in it's own box, with some fab art work to boot and comes with four disks per season, each one having 4 disks. This is the only annoying part, but when each disk contains 3 hours of play, you can't really grumble! The acting quality is superb, the storyline doesn't let it down either, and to finish it all off, if you plan on watching each disk or episode a while apart, you have the option to watch each episode with flash backs to cover the past few episodes, or just start on from the last! If you are a fan of any political TV dramas, or even fancy trying something new, this easy going and clever TV show is definitely something to consider!

great political thriller
Very enjoyable, well written and well acted. Just wish they didn't talk so fast or mumble, but at least it wasn't everyone. Loved the original so they had a lot to live up to and suceeded.

Political American Drama
The American version of the British 'The House of Cards'. Good in it's own way, but not a patch on the British version. There is much less drama, no real thriller feeling, and no murderous intent. Good, but disappointing if you are expecting something even more dramatic and violent than the British product.

Gripping warning of what happens when the powerful get too powerful!
Absolutely gripping; couldn't stop watching. But it's also frightening to think that much of what is portrayed as fiction could - all to easily - happen (and some has, no doubt). What it should make us all stop to think about is this: how is it that there are a handful of powerful people - often either the bosses of big business or the politicians who they bankroll - can ride roughshod over the rest of us. And my short answer is this: as a public, we are too apathetic and too inclined to accept what the powers that be tell us. Beware the media; beware politicians of most hues; beware who you trust. And make sure they know you're watching. That requires engagement and work and is frustrating and exhausting; but it is, nonetheless, unavoidable if we want to make sure that democracy doesn't become - in Frank Underwood'w words - so overrated.

Unmissable - buy it!!!!!
OMG this is one of the best I have watched!!!! My husband and I were absolutely addicted to it and had it finished in no time. It was like losing a good friend when we came to the end of it but good news - there will be another continuation due out around February so we can't wait.

Amazing series, watching is compulsory !
Don't hesitate, amazing series. The first parts are for binge watching. Acting excellent especially in the second part. I am told Washington is really like this. Love the scenes of the City. EW

This package is good value. But be careful, it is very well done and so interesting if you start watching it's hard to stop. No sleep! Recently I purchased the 4th season on blu ray, just released, but not watched yet. If it is as good as this item (season 1 to 3) it is sure to be excellent. Please take care of the time! After starting, cannot stop watching. High quality script, and acting melodrama. Recommended (if you have free time!!)

I have never been more involved with a television series. We have all four seasons and it only gets better. They seem to be a combination of the Clintons and the Cheneys. We thought The West Wing was powerful, which it is; but this holds back nothing. Sometimes I see Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon in Spacey when he lets loose. One huge disappointment: the packaging. They're packaged in tight cardboard slots which makes it difficult to get them out. A couple of the discs were actually glued into the packaging (fortunately, it was sticky on the top of the disc and not where the laser plays the show. Whoever came up with this design should be fired.) I believe this is the true picture of politics/Washington behind the scenes. A shadowy and corrupt world for power and self-advantage. Can't recommend it too much!
