I drilled a one inch hole in my hardwood floor (in a corner) to run an ethernet cable. This worked perfectly to hold the cable and hide the hole. As such, I will not have sleep on the couch.

I originally bought a different set of "1-inch" grommets. I drilled 1-inch diameter holes but the grommets were too loose. So next, I wrapped tape around the grommet to make the fit tighter, but the grommet material is so slick, the tape would not stay on for very long. I was thinking of trying to glue the grommet in place when I returned to Amazon to research other options. After a lot of searching, I came across these ones, which are slightly larger than 1-inch. I figured it was worth a try. They are perfect. They fit in a 1-inch snuggly and don't pop out. Don't waste your time doing your own research. Just buy these and be confident that they will work with a 1-inch hole.

These do what they need to. Still a hole, put a cable through it, done. But, they are silicon, which is hard to glue in place. Use a silicon compatible glue or super glue, hot glue does nothing.

I only needed one, so I'm glad it was a smaller pack. Most products like this come in packs of at least 20, which is absurd. The fact they're silicone is nice too because they wont tear any cables that pass through.

From having cables running all over my desk to having a neat grommet makes a very big difference.Standard 1" hole size was super easy to make in my butcher block desktop. I will probably add just a touch of glue so that the grommets stay in place a bit better and dont get pulled out when I tug on the wires.
