Yes, I think it would be suitable for an 18 month old child. It would be fun for them to draw on the drawing board and they could sit at the little table with the legs attached and draw or play with other toys. I think it would be a fun toy to take on trips in the car or at a hotel. Easy to transport, no mess, and the stylus is attached so it won't get lost.
