US LP pressing. Think you've heard enough Ariel Pink? Well our favorite omnivorous media junkie from LA still has a few tricks left up his sleeve, like the left-of-center House Arrest. Sure the Doldrums and Worn Copy had some hits and humdingers on them, but House Arrest never let's up. It's hit after hit after hit. Sorta like if you listened to your friend's boombox mix tape from Top 40 radio around 1985. Some people might think that sounds like a recipe for disaster. We say bring on the Doritos. Paw Tracks. 2006.

Flawed genius?
This was the first hearing of Ariel's music for me, after reading various bits about it. Having listened to this a few times, I can sort of see what the fuss is about, in that the hooks really get into you after a bit. Interesting tunes and words. Maybe I'm too oldskool, but the sound quality on this disc is so bad that it does detract from the enjoyment of the music for me. Yeah, he recorded it on cassette in his room etc, but so did lots of other artists back in the heyday of cassette multitracking, and the best of them sounds way better that Mr Pink's efforts, sonically that is. Not many would match his writing and arranging talents though, and ultimately that is what matters of course!

My only issue with this is that it lacks a number of tracks that are on the CD version. Otherwise it's a great listen w/ plenty of replay value.

Gotta get it.
The 70s style guitar riffs sound amazing on this vinyl through a good speaker system. This album was made to be listened to on vinyl. My room vibrated with perfect sound and energy.
