It came vacuum sealed and fluffed up when the package was cut open. It was soft with no rough pieces, which is exactly what I needed! Smells great, with a wonderful pine smell.

Yes it was well at first I thought it wasn't enough.But once you break it up, it turns out to be just enough for 2 sections of bedding for the size of tank that I have worked out perfect

Very clean aspen shavings, flat packed/vacuum sealed. I screen shavings to remove excess dust, and this stuff hardly had any dust at all! All shavings were soft and not splintery. It does not get better than that.

My little Piggie loves it, but it really does not have the most powerful odor control. I do like the packaging because it's easy to store several packages at a time. Cleaning his cage is a breeze, and I will continue to buy this product.

If you take a look my photo, I’m showing I made 32 snack sized bags with about 3/4 cup fluffed shavings from the first compressed rectangle of 2 of what was mailed to me. When it arrived, I was really disappointed - I thought the shavings stayed the size the “bricks” were mailed. Nope. The pkg. is vacuum-sealed, so once the air hits, they plump right up! I made 32 bags and I STILL have the 2nd brick to use. The 32 bags should last me probably at least 6 months - if not a year - for their intended purpose. I was using cat litter, but I don’t have a cat, and I wasn’t interested in paying for the smallest jug they have for cat litter, which is still pretty large. These shavings are perfect for absorption, and the cost-savings is a way better deal than the plastic cat litter jugs. I am earth-conscious so I really try to keep the shipping contents minimal. With how they vacuum pack, I see they’re trying too. I’m extremely happy with this purchase - it not only met my expectations… it far-exceeded them!

Martin the hamster enjoys this soft bedding. He moves it all around his cage and snuggles down in it. It helps absorb the messes and keeps him warm.

NEVER USE ASPEN FOR RATS, MICE, OR HAMSTERS! It causes respiratory illness and traps ammonia more, use paper bedding! Its more comfy and cheap on here!
