This is a great buy! Cool colors and sound effects and rechargeable. Bought for my son for Christmas and now buying again for my son's friend.

Just hold the start button for a few seconds. Magically you are ready for battle, the galactic sounds, and the glowing, ever-changing lights. Push the button again, and your color changes and your sounds modify. These represent your elevation as an emerging Jedi. Out for a stroll, I encountered a few errant stormtroopers, my saber prevailed. My husband informed me that the grandkids will want to play with it also. I will train the young padawan.

Flimsy , and refuses to hold a charge after the first day.

Great for your little kid that likes lights and long things. I can only give it 4 stars though because of charging problems.

Cool little saber with even cooler sound effects. Got this for an eight year old who’s into all things saber related. The sound effects are very cool. The seven shades of colors the blade can change are even better. Can even be converted into a flashlight if one desires, by keeping the little blue saber compartment closed and simply utilizing the lighting effect. Compact and easy to use for small hands. Has a nice design on the sheath itself and the blade shaped saber that emerges with the push of a button and flick on one’s wrist is a great feature as well. Would recommend to those needing a saber knockoff that sounds great, has a nice design and provides hours of entertaining distraction.

My son likes to swing it around. That's about the best I have to say. Ok, well, the lighting is also nicely bright. Now for the things I don't like. The saber is difficult to extend and retract. The sections that slide into one another are all overly tight. I guess that's better than overly loose, but it's so much of a hassle that we just leave it extended. Secondly, this thing is LOUD. My son is sensitive to overly loud sounds and I had to put tape over the speaker holes to quiet it down to a tolerable level. It would have been nice if you could turn the sounds off, but I guess that is too much to ask for at this price point. (Edit: I didn't notice that in the pictures on the sale page there are operating instructions. Still would have been nice if they were included with the product.) Thirdly, I can't tell if this thing is even charging. There were no instructions included, so I'm not sure if there is supposed to be a charge indicator or not, but there isn't anything that illuminates on this saber when plugging in the charging cable. (Edit: Confirmed there is no visual charging indicator.) I know it's a toy, but I've seen sabers at similar price points that felt like better values.

Its a decent lightsaber that collapses when not in use so it doesn't occupy too much room plus its rechargeable so no batteries to change. The saber is lightweight and cute. Sounds effects are cute too and the lights are a nice touch, though you have to cycle through them all to change anything. The on button is a bit stiff, it took me a minute to figure it out but it works well. A nice buy

Well, sadly the title of my review says it all. I was looking for a decently priced light saber to use for Halloween tomorrow. It arrived and, when I initially powered it on to test it out, all 7 colors were working fine. I tried it out again just a few minutes later, and suddenly only 3 of the colors were working (green, blue, light blue). Really have no idea why the others stopped, because I was handling it gently and didn't even do much aside from look at the colors and test the different modes. Very disappointed, as my return item which (hopefully) works properly won't even arrive until after Halloween. Gave it an extra star because, if it did work properly, it would've been fine enough for the price I paid. But for the item to be defective so quickly right from the box is, like I said, pretty disappointing.

i didn't believe how good it was compared to it's price, but it is actually amazing
