The Dangers of Outsourcing/Internet buying
A keenly priced product from a well known UK name. Nice thick placemats and coasters.Study of Portmeirion's web site reveals that these are now produced in China, albeit to the "stringent quality and craftmanship" for which Portmeirion Group is known.However,the edges of the placemats are poorly machined and the top placemat in the box was scratched and covered in places with some sort of adhesive. Of course, the scratching could have been as a result of them being shipped loose in a flimsy Amazon envelope and at least the adhesive cleaned off.At the price paid it was still fair value for 5 good placemats and the coasters are fine, but regardless of price I expect my purchases to be of the quality advertised and delivered intact.

Good attractive product.
Very satisfied with this well made product. It is lasting well and marks and so are easily wiped off to keep the appearance looking good.
