Q: Why does this have garlic in it when garlic is toxic to ferrets and causes their livers to shut down?

A few years ago I've contacted the Seller https://www.nuprosupplements.com/ferret_info.html Call Us: 800-360-3300 Email: bark@nupropet.com, because I was concerned with the decaying quality or this product which had a rich brown sugar colour and after some time it has become more pale. At that time I asked her about garlic and ferrets and was told that Garlic is not toxic and this has been debunked eons ago already. She email'd me links to a Magazine, Pet magazine, where the subject of garlic and ferrets and other pets was being demystified. I lost the email when I wiped my server. But DO contact the NuPro people and talk to the Boss, she will explain it to you. Or course, everything in excess is harmful. Even water.

Q: Is this ok for ferrets with insulinoma? And what's the ingredients?

I would recommend to direct your questions to the manufacturer and possibly your vet…personally, with a terminal illness I can’t assume this would necessarily pose harm to them. Additionally, my ferret has been on this for about 4 to 5 years and was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and I do continue to use it as she doesn’t seem to like her food much without it. It can be used as gravy topping by mixing with water, or sprinkled on dry. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Q: What’s the shelf life? I bought it in January of 2021 and still have tons of it!

I’m not sure but there is a date stamp on it and generally speaking it’s probably “ok” but look for the date stamp to be sure…otherwise, just be safe and get a new jar…it’s only about $20 and it’s a pretty descent supplement! Better safe than sorry!
