The media could not be loaded.  I got these for a music class I volunteer teach for my kids school. So I didn’t want to invest a ton of money. The drum head is indeed a fiber skin of some sort! And the sound is definitely a pleasant surprise. The 8” and 10” (the two medium ones) sound the best. Not sure how they are going to hold up, but I would be more than happy with 2-3 years for the price. Will be ordering a second round (for a class of 25), now that I’ve played with them.the mallets won’t work for students 4 and under as the black mallet heads (a rubber ball) come right off. I may glue them on just so the 1st/2nd graders don’t get tempted. The wood ones seem to stay on, but I still wouldn’t risk it with any toddlers.That being said, I teach mostly hand drumming to start. And may not even use the mallets.Definitely worth the bang for the buck!FYI. Every drum is individually wrapped in plastic.

I purchased these drums because of their cost. They definitely don’t play very well as the drum head seems loose and the sound isn’t very strong. They also smell bad, like nail polish.
