13W T5 Slimline Under Cabinet Fluorescent Fitting with Diffuser, Length 571mm [Energy Class B]

Neat and tidy design, including a ridged plastic diffuser which clips over and protects the tube from minor knocks. Fixture also has a small on-off rocker switch if you want to switch at the unit. The installation kit includes two pairs of small plastic brackets for different configurations. The base of the fixture snaps into the plastic brackets. A cable is supplied, but you'll need to install your own plug with a 3-amp fuse. A 21-inch T5 tube is supplied ready installed. This tube produces a warmish white light with a slight magenta cast : if you want a different colour temperature, plenty of other tubes are available on Amazon and elsewhere. Clear and simple instructions are supplied, including how to daisy chain several units.

Nice slimline lights, quite easy to fit although the instructions are abit unclear, just looking at the units it is fairly easy to figure them out (note, only connect at one end - don't try to lever the cap off the other end as there isn't a lead connection at both ends). We found the original bulbs a bit bright and 'clinincal' so changes for some softer versions. Very happy with final results.

Bought to replace a failed Smilight fitting. It was possible to use the original fittings and wiring connections (handy because it is supplied with neither - though it doesn't claim to be). Good value but care is needed as the end fittings are not very securely held in place and pull out with the wiring connectors. This isn't a functional issue - but you could strain the internal wiring if you don't exercise care should you need to remove the whole fitting. It isn't an issue if you're just replacing the bulb.

To their immense credit Leyton Lighting sent the two fittings [X1 13watt + X1 6watt] by different couriers to avoid any delay in the supply. A very considerate touch, rather than making me wait for the other to come in to stock. Although I'm Prime, the product included free postage, so an excellent service. The units are well-made and come with two types of under-cabinet fitting. The tubes have a full length cover. Screws are included. Connector leads of decent length [100cm] are also supplied. Recommended if you need to change the lights beneath your kitchen cabinets because, like mine, it has become well nigh impossible to get the replacement tubes for your current kit.

A very good light for under cabinets, but needs mountings that allow you to face the light to face the wall ( for the shorter person so the light will not shine in there eyes)

One of the very old lighting units under my kitchen cabinets failed suddenly with a loud noise after being used daily for many years. I was actually sitting in the kitchen when it happened. It turned out to be not the tube but the lighting unit itself.This replacement was easy to fit and was an exact match. Very thankful that it was still readily available.

I bought this to put under my kitchen cupboard because my main work surface is not very well lit. I found I was always working in my own shadow. Not any more! I wish I'd bought one of these sooner. Some reviewers have said that the light it gives off is quite stark. It is but that's what I wanted. If you are looking for subdued lighting, then this is not for you. If you are looking for a light that lets you see what you are doing, then look no further! I did struggle with fitting the brackets, tho. Not because they are complicated, more because of where I was fitting them. Don't be put off by this as there are other methods you can use, ie velcro.

I bought this lighting unit to replace one in my kitchen. Although a bit longer than the previous one, this was easy to install and it works without fault. The connector was the same with the one on the previous unit so very easy to fit.
