Expensive but guilt free oil 😀
I liked Figaro for its high MUFA( 69) AND VERY low PUFA(7). it’s darker greenish gold and lightly flavoured at a higher price of 6250/-I compared FIGARO with SANO olive oil that claims the nutritional value of PUFA(11) and MUFA(77) at a much cheaper price( 2230/-)Outwardly-Both come in cuboid tins with a pullout nozzle and green capSano’s nozzle is broad mouthed so oil flows in a heavy stream while Figaro has the traditional narrow mouth nozzle through which oil pours slowly hiccuping air.Consistency and colour of oil-Figaro- says edible olive oil। appears thicker and darker ( greenish golden) than SANO that says Olive oil and falls like a very light coloured super refined oil( golden yellow).Scent- Figaro has a natural light scent of fresh olives. While Sano has a forced trace of olive scent. It’s dominating scent can be easily matched with any long kept canola oil. Not very pleasing over all.Flavour- I’m used to eating olive oil for years now so I am used to its taste. For the beginners, Figaro would taste strong initially but Sano is like any other refined oil.Nutritional value-Figaros table of nutrition is traditionally the same. Flow of oil, colour, consistency of oil and aroma suggests I am in an authentic zone. Total fat per 100 ml- 91gm with saturated fat of 15gm, PUFA- 7 g, MUFA-69 gm.While SANO has a discrepancy. It’s 100 gm value suggests saturated fat-12 gm, PUFA- 11gm, MUFA-77gm whereas it’s per 15 ml serving suggests saturated fat 1.83 gm, PUFA- 1.49 gm and MUFA 1.23 gm.Hope it helps in taking a right decision when it comes to buying the right olive oil for your and your family’s health.
