Pleasant Hearth VFL2-VO30DR 30" Valley Oak Series Vent Free Gas Log Set 33,000 BTU's

Sooooo. Very very very disappointed and disgusted about this product!! My heart was very much set on having this particular log set. Seriously the first one I could sorta understand.... but the second one is just unacceptable to me!! Can't express it enough how annoyed and frustrated I am over this. Are they by chance refurbished??? First one would not hold a flame. The second one the igniter would not work as well as not hold the flame to be able to "turn" it on. We had professionals look at it as well.

The picture shows a very real looking fire...it looks NOTHING like a real fire! It looks like the gasburner on my stove! The flame cannot be adjusted to more than about one inch above the logs so it's hardly visible. Gives off very little heat...the ONLY good thing about it is the remote works. I hate it and will be replacing it next year.

I have recently bought three different brands of fire logs sets and this one was the best. After learning how to install the other two logs sets I was able to install this one even w/o the manual which was a good thing since the all of the documentation (manual, shipper, warranty info, etc) was missing from my log set. One caveat is that after I installed the included batteries in the remote control and it's receiver (controls the gas on/off) I found I had one AAA battery left. At this point I had an installed log set with a pilot light but the set would not light off so I contacted Amazon and after speaking to four tech support people and I explained that I did not want to return the set, I was given the manufacturers WEB site where with some effort I found the manual on-line. Low and behold the manual the extra battery was needed for the igniter which was easily found on the right side of the log set and identified by a red/black twist off top (similar to a fuse holder). Once I installed the battery the remote control "on" switch turned on the gas and the log set ignited. One point to note is that the manual states the propane tank must be at least 100 pound capacity which I found out the hard way when I tried to use the tank for my BBQ only to find it only worked when it was more then half full. The tank shown in my pic has been supplying propane for several days w/o a problem.

Not horrible. Not great. Just sort of.... eh. Spend a little more for a better quality product.

I had these logs for almost a year before i was able to get a gas line installed. I wish i could get my money back but I’ve had them too long. Complete trash and a waste of money!! Worked great for the first two weeks and now the pilot won’t stay lit.

Pilot goes out every time the the logs shut off using natural gas- adjusted repeatedly.
