Slick AND Functional
Aside from fitting perfectly in my kitchen window (without needing the spacer blocks), it not only looks great but works exceptionally well. I actually left it on overnight because it was so quiet I forgot to turn it off. Even at high speed, it's very quiet compared to other fans I've had and produces a strong airflow. It's very easy to use and switching from intake to exhaust is a great feature in a kitchen without other venting. I can't say how practical it might be in larger rooms since there are no movable fins to direct the airflow left or right, but in my modest Manhattan kitchen, I couldn't ask for anything better.

Great concept
I wanted a window mount fan that was quiet, provided sufficient airflow, and was attractive. I really didn't want to have to take it out of the window more than I had to and I don't like the hum of a cheap fan so the goal was to pay the noise away. The first week it was spectacular and the middle setting moves enough air to turn the whole room over without a lot of noise. Unfortunately the longer I used it the louder it got. I suspect that the bushings for the fan are plastic and use started wearing them out quickly, but it's buttoned up so tight that there is no getting in there to check. Light pressure from a flexible object on the blades while it was running would silence it for a few minutes before it shook itself loose again. The issue corrected itself when this accidentally snapped a few of the blades off and it balanced itself. Now it is beautifully silent and still moves a good amount of air. Only you and I know that there are some blades sitting loose in the bottom of it.

Wonderful
I bought 2 of these fansone draws the air in and one pulls the air through the house and out. I will probably order another one, so I will have mor air coming in. I was able to wait until the temperature reached 90° before I had to turn on the AC. Size of fans are geat. My windows have safety locks that keep the windows from being raised very high. These fans fit perfectly. They can be put ina window that slides to the side.

Great fan design but the foam blocks??
I like the look of the fan itself. It doesn’t blow very hard but looks good until you stick the weird foam blocks that HOPEFULLY fit perfect. 30 seconds to install but not too trusting that the foam blocks won’t blow away. I’m sure they could have design some plastic shields like every other window fan I’ve ever used.If you want a slim deaign that doesn’t take up the whole view this is great. If you like solid designs (like me) the foam blocks won’t suffice and the strength of the fans is so-so.$40-50 maybe. $90? I think I’ll return it.

worst window fan I've ever bought
1 year update: It's dead.I have no idea what kind of window this fan was designed to fit. It has a pretty much non-compressible foam(?)strip on one side and a narrow groove on the other which makes it impossible for the fan to securely fit in any window I've ever seen, whether it be wood, vinyl or metal-clad.It falls out of the window at the slightest shake making it impossible to to open or close the opposing pane without stepping back to avoid getting your toes crushed or having to go outside to retrieve it.There's also no remote control and the foam blocks provided for filling in the ends don't match the profile of the fan, thereby rendering them useless.Other than not staying where it was placed it's relatively quiet and provides adequate air flow.Would not buy again, would not recommend.

Fantastic BUT others are right about a few things.
It works amazing, the exhaust is maybe half as strong as the regular intake. The foam things that it comes with? Trash. 100% 😭😂 Other than that, it's what you expect/hope for. Not sure why it says not to use vertically but - regardless. It looks great, works great, and you gotta find another solution to the rest of the gap in the window or tape the dumb foam lol. Also it shakes my window but that's my crappy windows fault, not the appliances, just letting you know tho so you can find something/anything to wedge between the window panes so they can't rattle against each other.

Good exhaust fan for smoking
I’ve bought all of these types of window fans available on amazon, I just bought the airportal by the same company, replacing the transom window fan, both of these sharper image fans are better than the transom. The air portal seems to have the strongest exhaust, but this fan is much more quiet. They’re both great and I use them for exhaust fans so that I can smoke indoors without having my house smelling like smoke. If you sit right by it and are careful they totally work, and very very well, if you need more strength against wind get the portal, but if a lot of noise is an issue get this fan.

Finally, a sleek & modern window fan
I live in Florida (so basically the surface of the sun). AC is mandatory almost every day, but… we do get a few weeks when night temperatures drop. This is my cue to turn off the AC & let Mother Nature help me save $$If the night temps are below 70 degrees, I will pop this into my front window & let it go all night. It’s sleek & fits the window really nicely. The airflow is robust & it’s quiet. The unit is lightweight so when the temps rise, it’s not a big deal to just pop it out & store it away.Would definitely recommend this.
