SATECHI ReadMate LED Desktop Magnifier with up to 5X Magnification - Carrying Case Included (Black)

This is great magnifier that comes with a storage/travel case. The quality is really good for the money and the item is a lot larger in person and makes reading and illuminating text a lot easier. The on/off switch is on the inside/underside of the magnifier and has to be switched on after removing the battery connection plastic tab. Don’t pull this tab down hard to remove you should open the door and carefully remove it that way. Once the on switch is flicked you just press the magnifier down to turn it on or off whilst looking through the glass. Excellent product from Satechi. Perhaps the power switch and battery compartment could be a little tougher but you’ll only be touching these very briefly when changing the battery so really they don’t make much impact on the overall use. Apart from that very well made and looks really nice :)

Very good magnification

A great magnifier, if only the switch and battery compartment were better made. Battery does not make contact unless you put a lot of pressure on the battery case / door.I will look at fixing it properly but I wanted to buy two more for gifts but the quality of the switch and battery compartment lets it down and I don't want to risk giving gifts that don't operate properly. Great size, weight and feel and decent magnification and light. LEDs give a pretty nice and even light, although the LEDs reflect in the glass, but only as very small points so not too distracting. Not worth £20 in my opinion unless the switch and battery compartment are better made. Then it would well be worth £20 and worth 5 stars.

This compact and handsome device is the answer to a prayer for those of us who struggle to read fine print in low light (even with the assistance of reading glasses!) The degree magnification is just right, and if needed a quick press of the top ring shines 3 LED lights on the text. Not quite pocket-sized, but it's compact enough to fit in a small messenger bag and comes with a carrying case to keep the lens from getting scratched. If they made a smaller one that works this well, I'd buy that also!

Absolutely brilliant. The LED light makes such a difference. Ordered for my dad and my 2 aunts want one too!

It works and the LED/magnification are fine for basic use, but for this price I expected a more premium build and a clearer, higher-quality lens. It feels closer to the cheaper alternatives that cost half as much (or less). If you find it heavily discounted it’s OK, but at full price the value just isn’t there.

This is a brilliant product. I bought it as a gift for my elderly dad. He is using it for looking at his coin collection and using it to read small text. He is very happy with the product. Excellent communication from sellers as well. The package arrived within a matter of days. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

This was bought as a Christmas present. The first time it was used the light lasted seconds only and did not work again. I returned the item and got a refund. Very disappointed on behalf of the recipient as he requested this specifically.
