Works very well for me
After spending some considerable time researching electric heat guns I finally opted for this one. There are some cheaper ones around and many that cost more, some quite a bit more. On initial inspection the overall build and finish appears to be pretty good- no rough edges or mis-alignment and the gun is very light in weight and about the size of a hair-dryer. The mains cable appears robust and thick enough to contain wiring of a suitable rating to handle whatever current is drawn ( a 2000 watt gun will draw about 8 amps in theory on the high setting). It runs quieter than you might expect and has 2 heat settings: #1 is about the same as an average hair dryer while #2 is for more serious uses. another review states that the 2 levels only alter the blower speed and not the heater element - this is not the case. On #2 the element glows much brighter than #1 as you would expect. Another reviewer claims that the hot setting is too hot. Really? If the heat produced is too much for the particular job in hand then just increase the distance between the nozzle and the 'target', it's not rocket science. Talking of nozzles the included set seems OK, maybe a little flimsy but I actually have not used them as yet and will probably not need any of them but at least they are included unlike certain other models. Another review's criticism was regarding the instruction being minimal. Yes they could be described as such but it's common sense: it's a heat gun so will get hot: wear gloves, check output level, turn on and point where it needs to be pointed and nowhere else. An inch thick manual is not needed.Negatives: a longer cable would have been nice as would a carry case however this unit is competitively priced and, in my opinion, very good value. I make no comment about its longevity - I suspect this is subject to how often it will be used and for duration of use and there is a 12 month warranty anyway. At the time of my purchase this make and model can be found a little cheaper on a well-known auction site but I prefer to deal via Amazon for electrical goods.

Heat Gun
Never used a heat gun before, very easy to use and quite a few different heads to change for projects.Worked really well on the paint I needed stripping, came off like I was taking paper off.
