This 1 millimeter beanie is just what I needed for my dive trip to Roatan. It fits perfect and is thin enough not to make my head too hot during the warm water dives. I like the air vent holes in the top so I don't get the dreaded " bubble head" while diving. Shipping was fast.

It is very thin yet durable material, for me it was a loose spot on the bottom-back part and the chin belt is loose (maybe because my head is small). For my mom it fitted perfectly on her head so that her hair stays dry but after sawing the chin belt which was also loose for her.

So my package was delivered in the evening, pouring rain, just as I was getting ready to walk our dog. Temperature was mid 60's (F) so I figured I would give it a try! Wore it for a long walk, kept my head warm and dry in the steady rain. It was fairly tight without being uncomfortable, so I am looking forward to taking it for a swim on the weekend. One drawback in the rain is that it has no brim, so the water drips in your face, but that's not really what it's designed for. And you can't beat it for the price!Day 2 - temp were again in the high 60's, took it for a kayak and a swim in the ocean at Lockwood's Folly inlet in NC. Ocean was chilly, (probably 70) but not cold. The hood kept my head very warm and comfortable while swimming (crawl) in the open ocean. Felt weird at first not to have the sensation of the water on my head! But overall very comfy, and then on the kayak back home with a stiff breeze and a wet head, still quite warm and comfy.

It was hard to find a neoprene hood that was light weight and without a visor sewn on. I love this little 1mm hood. I am a wimp when it comes to swimming in the winter, but I am dedicated to continue exercising and the water is best for me. (I used to be an avid runner but 2 ankle surgeries means no more of that) I love to swim and its good for my ankle! I use earplugs, wear a swim cap and put the hood over that. It's a great way to stay warm without jackets or vests or wetsuits that I find chafing in a 45 min workout. My hair doesn't stay dry, but that isn't why I bought the hood. I love the adjustable chin strap. I tried one with a strap but not adjustable and it didn't fit right so wasn't comfortable. Go for this one if you are looking for light weight and comfortable.

I wear this not for warmth, but to keep my silicone cap tightly secured while swimming. I have fine, curly, bleached hair that is damaged enough and doesn't need chlorine from the pool water. With this on, there's no risk my cap will come up. It helps maintain a fairly good seal on the silicone cap so it barely moves while I'm swimming laps. I have a displaced TMJ on one side, and the strap is placed so as to not irritate it, which is also great. A+ for design. It's definitely warmer than wearing just a regular swim cap, but worth it to protect my hair. It's not so thick that it doesn't stretch. Also, this is not watertight, just FYI. That's not how wetsuits work! Don't expect it to be watertight. I wear a silicone cap underneath to provide that benefit (more or less watertight anyway).

Like covered velcro strap.But Hat itself runs very small. It's labeled as Medium, but doesn't fit a sz 7 head with slicked hair.

What a great product! I was able to take on the surf at full force during rip currents with this on my head. Once I got the gist of the double velcro chin strap securing the beanie onto my head, it worked great. I was self conscious about wearing a swim cap, but I think it was a super kool addition and it made me look like a very serious swimmer. One guy on the Boardwalk said I was even wearing "a helmet" (during the time of COVID)! Won't leave home for vacation without it packed in my luggage. Super !

Very nice fit, no extra material folding or sticking up from head. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was because of the velcro closing. When you put it on or especially when you take it off you nearly go deaf on the velcro side of the head. Also, any scratching or rubbing along the material by you ear is magnified 10 fold to your eardrums. I plan on cutting off the chin strap and resewing the edge so it does not cover the ear canal. With the nice tight fit I don't think I'll have any problem with it falling off. Another idea would be to place ear holes over the ear area.Otherwise, I'd buy it again. I will use it for snorkeling and hunting in colder weather.

Works OK but could have covered a bit more of the face. A large fits a smallish head. It does help to keep your head warm. I think I it's not enough on its own for fall swimming. However it keeps a base layer swim cap in place and combined they help keep your head warm.
