I saw this recorder on ghost hunters and decided if it was good enough for ghost hunters, it was good enough for me. I mean if it can hear ghosts, it should pickup up REAL sounds. When not ghost hunting I could use it to record my guitar - SCORE! It is particularly stylish with the gerbil that comes with it as a wind sock. I don't use it in the wind but I put the gerbil on it anyway because it make me look like a pro and the gerbil is cute. It is very capable. I can run external mikes through it I can plug both the electric and acoustic guitar into it. It's a little on the complicated side and it does not come with batteries. A disappointment for such an expensive handheld recorder. It is a little hungry when it comes to batteries but a requirement on ghost hunts, not so much on guitar recording.

Records live great with onboard mics and with outboard mics using XLR inputs. Get the remote if you are recording and playing music at the same time. It is so easy with the remote. The battery life depends if you are recording using MP3 or WAV. The WAV files are much larger and I experienced less battery life. If you need longer battery life record with MP3.

I bought this bundle, and it needed items from the bundle. I'd find another bundle.

You can find COMPREHENSIVE reviews on this tool. It's a pretty powerful little device....but this bundle isn't the best.It lacks some things I'd like to see, such as a few extra cords for its connections, a foam pop suppressor, and a stand.

SD card provided in package didn't work. Based on a YouTube video this has been experienced by others.

Used it once. Was easy to use with more functions than I ll ever use. Recommend

After debating over getting a field recorder for a while I decided on this one. It has all the features I was looking for. Build quality is great and feels solid. Sound quality is very good if you dial up the settings correctly. There's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to the menus and setting everything up correctly but that's to be expected with new gear.One thing I have to knock it for is handling noise. I wouldn't try to holding this while recording as it picks up EVERYTHING. I highly recommend getting a tripod for it but the good news is if you already have one laying around it has a pretty universal fitting.As a more minor inconvenience, this thing takes a while to boot up. So it's not something you want to be turning on and off if you're trying to capture a sound you don't have control over thus you'll probably be using more battery power to just keep it running.However, despite those couple of things I really like it and have a lot of fun recording things I normally wouldn't be able to in a studio. The wind screen is great and really like the additions that came with it. I suggest watching some videos on YouTube for demonstrations of it's capabilities but I'm quite happy with it.

Slow. Cheap. Incessant SD cards formatting issues. Do not recommend.
