Bought this as my own Christmas present (sad but true) . Very well packed inside Amazon box. The actual product is even better transit protected. Make sure you carefully unpack the item. There are a number of removable tapes on the outside and inside of the appliance. Once done, don't switch it on for at least 2 hours (see instructions) the refregiation gas needs to settle before use.After 2 hours, and recheking all seals have been removed, remove ice basket (and ice scoop). Fill with tap water, AKA Corporation Pop to the level indicated. Despite other reviews on here, this model holds exactly 2 Litres of water.There is a plastic sucker/hook that you could fit to the side of the ice maker to hold the scoop. A handy feature. Do not use the machine with the scoop left in the ice bucket.Switch on. Ensure that the appliance is plugged into a wall socket (not an extension lead) the appliance must be earthed to prevent any shock.The unit has a selection of Large or Small cubes. This is a matter of taste. For me large is great in a tumbler of Whisky and Lemonade as I write. About 6 minutes before your first 9 cubes and therafter 9 cubes per 6 minutes.The unit will pause when the ice basket is full or the water level is too low.Yes, the ice will become compacted if left for too long, this is what ice does. So don't moan about it. Just enjoy plenty of ice. Best switch the machine on about an hour before your guests arrive!As for self cleaning function, sod that, just make a solution of Milton Sterilising liquid and run that thrugh every month.Overall a great product at a fantastic price!(For the record, I ain't been paid or rewarded for this review, if only lol)

We’d been used to a fridge that had a built in ice maker so when we moved to a new rental that didn’t, we thought this was a better option than filling ice trays. Overall this seems an excellent unit but in practise it’s not quite the same. Pros: makes a small batch of ice cubes within 6 minutes and within half hour you have plenty to make a good round of drinks. Perfect if you are entertaining. Cons: it will keep cubes frozen while the unit is on but after a time the ice cubes stick together badly. Likewise if you try to transfer the made cubes into the freezer. They are a bit too small and wet to stay separate. When you turn it off, the cubes thaw and the water returns to the tank to be recycled, but they recommend that you don’t leave water in the tank for hygiene reasons so you need to move the unit to a sink to empty it using the little plug underneath - a bit fiddly. Conclusion: can’t fault the unit - it does exactly what it is supposed to, and will be incredibly useful at times, but overall it is not quite a replacement for a built-in ice maker and we’ve found ourselves filling the odd ice tray to have a back up supply of big ice cubes in the freezer.

I was a bit dubious about buying this machine but am very happy. I bought this because it's Christmas and we have very little storage space in our current freezer.I detest those little bag you have to fill with water and they usually burst or leak and the cubes are too small. Also if you buy a bag of ice then it's too large to fit it.With this you can make as much or a little as you need in no time and them pop them in the freezer.It's not as noisy as I thought it would be so am happy all round.

This is my second ice machine - my first is in storage during a move. I missed having ice on tap so much that I decided to buy another machine - my other one is an Andrew James version - this is just as good. As others have mentioned, the 'cubes' aren't as big as you'd get from a frozen ice tray - they're sort of bell-shaped - but the machine makes them so quickly that you can put a handful of them in a glass - and if they melt too fast, just add more (I've not actually had this issue, but others seem to have).The machine is ridiculously easy to use - just add water and that's it. The cleaning process is simple too. There's something special about having ice on tap for drinks and cocktails - this makes it so easy. I wouldn't say it's a cheap option - freezing cubes in the fridge or freezer is much more economical - but it's more convenient and less faff. Very happy with my purchase (and no one has paid me or otherwise rewarded me for writing this review)!

I bought a much expensive one for home what’s no where near as good as this one ok smaller but when it gives you the ice cubes they stay frozen my other one before you have chance to put them in your drink they melting so this machine i give it 10/10

Live this machine. So quick. The ice cubes are a little small but there's plenty of them. Can't wait for summer.
