What is the function of the large bolt inserted under the burner?

What does the large silver bolt given do? I can’t find a place for it.

I believe it is the bolt that goes into the side of the gas veturi to adjust the gas/air maximum volume that you are refering to. you should find a corrosponding threaded hole on the side of the brass gas connection which has the flame selection knob. Typically this bolt will also use a locking nut to secure the bolt so that it will not move after its position is adjusted for blue flame with no yellow with the flame selection knob at full output.
