A great solar, dual time watch with moon/tide graph
I bought this watch primarily to take on holiday and I've been very happy with it especially as it was so cheap and meant not taking a more expensive one away with me. The main resaons for the purchase were dual time function, backlight, solar power and cost. The dual time, once set up, can be shown permanently on the screen - I set it for Spanish time as seen in the image and with a few more button presses you are back to UK time so it's very easy to toggle the two whilst in transit. Alternatively you can have your home time showing on the main screen and the 'abroad' time displayed above it in smaller text - it depends on what you prefer and I wanted to see the local time as the primary info. When setting it up you have a variety of world time zones to choose from. There is a backlight funtion and this is adequate to see the time with in the dark, it's not amazing but does the trick and the numbers are nice and big on the face. The watch is powered by solar, it was on 'High' when I opened the box and has been on that level ever since. As with most Casio digital pieces it's very light and comfortable to wear, you hardly notice it on your wrist and the strap is a decent length for those who need it. I haven't had time to check some of the functions such as the alarm, moon/tide indicator or water resistance although it seems fine when washing hands etc. The auto calendar is a nice touch - set the date and never worry about changing it at the month end plus it also has a DST setting for summer/winter time changes. I found it easy to set up and did so without the manual but will probably consult YouTube when I set the tide graph as I've heard this can be a little fiddly. It's got a stopwatch which I'm unlikely to use and a countdown timer which I probably will use when cooking. Overall it's a nice watch watch with a great array of functions at a fantastic price and I'll definitely be wearing it regularly. It does have an acrylic face which was a criticism from some reviewers but I'm happy with that for the cost as I'm not likely to wear it on an assault course.

A lot of functions for a very reasonable price
I've bought a few watches over the last year, as it's become my latest obsession. I got into mechanical watches initially, and have purchased a few automatics, including a Seiko 5, but I started to appreciate that a digital watch would be nice for my small collection. I decided to buy a G-SHOCK square with Multi Band 6 and Tough Solar, and I love that watch. I managed to pick it up for an excellent price on Amazon. I got that for £65 and it's since gone back up to around £100 now. Only a few weeks since buying that watch, I was after a watch that had the moon phase/tide graph function. I found another G-SHOCK square on eBay which had this function, but the cheapest I could find a G-SHOCK square with this function was £120. I couldn't afford to spend that on another watch at the moment, so I decided to look at the cheaper Casios. I found one for £25 that had the moon/tide function, but I wasn't keen on the look. It looked a little to cheap for me. But I found this one for £36 and it looked decent, and had a surprising amount of functions on it. In fact it has most of the functions of my G-SHOCK, and a few things on top of that, but for almost half the price of what I paid, or a 3rd of the current price. So I decided to go ahead and purchase it.The watch looks good, and does look a bit like some of the round G-SHOCKs. It has all the standard functions like a stop watch, countdown timer, hourly chime and alarms (5 I believe). It has world time, and it has Tough Solar (a solar powered rechargeable battery), which is great at this price, and obviously the Moon phase and Tide graph which is why I bought it. It also does a couple of other things my G-SHOCK doesn't do. For instance you can click button A to display the world time along the top (instead of the Day/date), whilst still displaying the home time at the bottom. This is handy and something I wish my G-SHOCK had. Also, the backlight, although not as good as the G-SHOCK, has two settings. You can choose between 1.5 seconds of illumination or 3 seconds. I prefer 3 seconds, but you don't get that choice on my G-SHOCK, and it goes off a little quicker than I'd like. It has 100m of water resistantance which is a nice amount, so you don't have to worry about it getting wet, and you can go swimming with no problems. It's not a G-SHOCK, but it is still a rugged watch and should withstand some fairly heavy knocks and drops. The screen is plastic though so will scuff up overtime, but a tube of Polywatch will fix that.Overall, this is a great watch for the price and could easily be your only watch if you aren't into collecting multiple watches.

Does exactly what you want
This watch does basically everything you could want a watch to do, plus a couple of bells and whistles - specifically, it tells you what phase the moon is in and what the tide is doing, which is only useful to surfing astronomers. I've also seen some complaints that the tide function is not very specific, instead giving you water conditions in a general region rather than allowing you to set an exact beach or area. It's also slightly complicated to set up and use, but with a timer, stopwatch, night light, multiple alarms and day/date function, plus the fact that it's solar powered, you really can't complain about much. The watch will go to sleep in low light, so to read the time in the dark you'll have to press the "light" button twice. Again, this isn't much of a hardship. Can't speak to how long the battery lasts with the solar charging function - ask me in five or ten years.Overall, though, if you want a reasonably priced workhorse, this is a good choice.

Accurate , useful small and light
Good, reasonably small and light.Great little watch, Set-up is not complicated but you do need to follow the setup steps and actually read the manual- There is a good tutorial for using a casio GW7900 with a similar module on you tube .Once you have set your home town and the time (with daylight saving if in force) the moon phase is automatic. The tide time can be fine tuned by setting the time of the first high tide at your location , once set it is then calculated and displayed graphically. World times also need to have their daylight savings applied. 5 alarms , stopwatch and a countdown timer complete the package. Good illumination at night which also turns it back on if in power saving mode. Seems very accurate too- gained less than a second in 5 days.
