I have a braille student who does not like to wear the protective glasses his grandmother has for him. This child has problems with glare and he has low vision in one eye and no vision in the other. Glare is also a problem with his visual condition. Grandma just wanted protection for the better eye. He's a rough-and-tumble little guy--a regular boy-- who will try anything on the playground. I figured he didn't like the glasses his grandma picked and that he'd be more likely to keep glasses on on the playground if he thought they looked cool and he helped pick them out. So we used the end of our class session and we found these. We made a deal about at least wearing them for the playground. He likes that he can attach the case to the outside of his book sack. These sports sunglasses also come with a cleaning cloth, an instruction sheet (which we had to enlarge on the copier), and a sturdy zip-up case with a carabiner ring for attaching to his belt or his book sack which he also thinks is cool. They are made for sports so there is some protection from impact as well as UV protection while looking like the coolest nine-year-old on the playground. They fit well. He's a chubby nine-year-old and the fit is good. There is also a strap so that if he's atop the jungle gym, the glasses will stay attached to him.
