Brilliant microscope! I had reservations due to the price, but to be honest, it was bought for my son who turned 7 and it's great. It can zoom in so well and is easy to focus. Obviously it is a delicate piece of apparatus but with a little care you can get some excellent results. I'd definitely recommend.

Seem to be well made and quite robust for the price. Tried out briefly and was quite impressed with the quality for what to me was a relatively petit microscope. Bought two, one for my Grandson and one for a friends son, so only tried one of them briefly. I've used various microscopes over the years and these seem like quite good imitations of the professional ones of years ago with added bonus of LED lighting. The plastic slide holders looked a bit fragile but should last with a little care.

Excellent as a beginners microscope. It has a light which is very helpful and lots of accessories. The only thing it doesn't include is some stain which you need when making your own slides (some premade slides are included) . Well worth the money.

As a student, I need something better than this to consistently see cells. The microscope is great at spotting textures and details - it is a kid's scope though, should have known... tried to take the cheap route. Also, the focus wheel is not very sturdy at the bottom of focus - it can slip, which makes it difficult to focus on high settings.

Bought for our 7 year old's birthday. He is an intelligent lad, and his dad told me today it appears to be a good piece of equipment, having used it the once so far to view some insect slides I also purchased. They are looking forward to looking at things from the garden once the weather improves. Pleased with the quality.

Great piece of equipment, particularly considering the price. The quality seems quite reasonable -- just do not expect too much and you won't be disappointed. I have tried all modes and as far as I can see everything is in focus and well-lit. Note, that field of view very small for high magnification levels, so it is definitely a struggle to move the viewing glass until you finally can see a specimen. However, this is not related to microscope's quality -- just the laws of physics. Overall, I definitely recommend this microscope for beginners and as a present for young (from age 7) children.

The microscope is a present for xmas, for my 8yr old grandson, it looks absolutely perfect, plenty of items in the case along with a well made looking, microscope,hopefully it will turn out as good as it looks.

This pack looked perfect for my 10 year old son, who had expressed the desire to get a microscope with his birthday money. The item arrived very quickly and in good condition. It had a reasonable carry case and a good spread of accessories. Unfortunately the microscope itself, despite other comments on here, was mostly made of plastic. Not an issue in itself, but within a day of gentle, normal use, the rack and pinion gear (also made of plastic) that operated the focus started slipping, until turning the focus wheels stopped moving the lens completely. So the microscope was impossible to focus and consequently completely useless. I have had to return the item and now have one very disappointed 10 year old. Although I'm OK with a plastic body, etc, I don't regard plastic as a suitable material for the gearing to control the focus on a microscope, even a child's one. Most of the other kid's microscopes available online look to me as if they will have the same problem, so we are still looking for a suitable replacement. In light of this I would advise testing in a shop before purchase if you can. I normally have no issues with items from Amazon, but in this instance I'm afraid I cannot recommend this product at all.

Got this for my 6 year old great-niece who wants to be a veterinarian, so we decided to get her started on science. The microscope seems to be just about right on the quality and durability. Her age group can be clumsy but she seems so fascinated with it she is careful. The carrying case is rugged enough for extended use. The enclosed slides are a good cross-section of items. Overall this is excellent for the beginners, and the cost-value is such that if she wants to be a fireman next week, the investment in the set-up won't be bad.
