Amazon Basic Care Temple Touch Digital Thermometer, White

Surprisingly this is a nice, accurate, easy to use digital thermometer . When I ordered it I was not. expecting much because it is so inexpensive. I live by myself so I rarely need to check my temp. If I still had young children at home I would have picked a more expensive thermometer because it would be more durable and faster (I think) . For my situation this model is perfect.

This thing has been awesome for quick checks of my sick kids. They hate having their temperature checked or sitting still for a standard thermometer and this only takes a few seconds. Easy to use just hit the button and place the circular spot on the temple.

Very easy to use right out of the box. Small, and easy to hold.

Suits the purpose. Works well.

This and every other digital readout thermometer are a collective joke. Since the banning of mercury, the idea of a clinical household device to complete an observation of ones internal temperature has gotten lost in translation. Even your doctor and your hospital record whatever number shows up as just another required number that takes up space on a chart that no professional looks at because they have an expensive treatment to extrapolate from the result.Thyroid being the exception. However most endocrinologists don't actually sort for it's importance either.My recommendation is to get as simple a thermometer with Galinstan, the"non-toxic" mercury substitute, if it's accuracy you desire.If not, keep buying all the various "scamometers" like the above.Wish I'd done my homework sooner. Got it today via Amazon. Very very easy to use. Battery included also. Accurate. Temp in a few seconds and cheap.

I got terrifically sick in December late Dec 2023 and ordered this Amazon Basic thermometer. it seemed to work okay but yay. I'm sick again, and have been taking my temperature. Just notice the battery is dying already after 2 months usage, and just now tried opening the thing with a quarter. The machining is not good: the battery compartment is almost impossible to open. I can see it's a really poor fitting shoved together. just checked and I missed the return window by about 3 weeks. oh well, I'll go back to my simple little oral thermometer that I've now had for about 30 years and it still works.Edited this and gave it 3 stars (instead of the original 1 star) bc I was able to finesse the opening and access the battery. It requires use of quarter (to twist the access thingamabob as far as it can physically go) and then use an IC puller to lift out the plastic piece. So I won't throw it in the trash and I can replace the battery. But buyer beware.

This is the easiest thermometer I ever used. Just a touch to the temple for a few seconds, and you're all set. It's easy, fast and accurate, which is pretty much all I need. And it's easy to read. No problems.
