I've always wanted a straight razor (cut throat) but never really got round to buying one but as I needed to buy a new razor I decided to try one, I looked through the first couple of pages on Amazon and found this one and I liked the sound it and when it arrived I wasn't disappointed as the wooden handle is beautifully made and so comfy to use and installing the blades is even easier. I know it'll take a bit of practice and time to master how to properly use a straight razor without any nicks or cuts but I can honestly say this straight razor gives an unbelievable close shave and left me feeling really clean and smooth so it is well worth the money. I am planning on buying at a later date now a proper razor and strop once iv mastered this blade.

So.... Bought new one of these after the first one got neglected and rusted. However mostly likely to be my fault left in a damp bathroom.Anyhoo. Firstly there are two types of blades you might want to consider. The single sided disposable type much more convenient to use on this type of shaver. However I do use the double side ones and snap them while in their paper sleeve. Cheaper too and you get the use of a trusted gillette brand razor blade. Result!!! But. In doing so the bend results in a bend of the back of the blade. Making this type of bade fixing difficult. Much easier of the sliding type cut throats.But it's yours choice entirely. But it'll be easier to buy single sided blade with this model but only if you can buy quality blades. I still haven't found quality ones yet... At least at a good price.I personally don't change blades every time. It isn't cost effective. And to be honest you don't need to they do this at the barbers for health and safety etc etc...They stay sharp for 2 or 3 shaves at least.The wood feels good in your hand. Honestly feels solid and stable than plastic models I've tried. But that's most likely down to ergonomics.Either way. Arrived very fast... Prime.. And came with one blade to try it out. I've quickly changed back to my gillette 7 o'clock blades. Tried and tested.Very good cheap buy indeed.

Does exactly what it is designed for.Much better than a modern safety razor especially fir shaving longer beard hair.

Took a long time to arrive. Was told it was lost in transit and had to be re sent. Good communication by seller though. Product itself is a lot more flimsy than i was expecting. It has no weight to it at all. Easy to change blades but wish I'd spent money on DE razor instead. Not a bad product just not a lot for the money.

OK at the time of writing this review I haven't tried shaving with it as expecting other orders arriving but overall am very happy with my purchase best thing I like is the wood look very modern but old too and the shave head area is as lightly smaller than my current shavette it's nicely rounded on corners do some thought has gone into the making of and the end user plus it came in a very fancy looking card box with some blades overall I'm def looking forward to trying it out thanks seller and amazon

Looks very good with the matte black and wood, but it does not lock into place when closed with a blade.

I can’t fault this little beauty. I have a lot of straight razors etc and for the price I paid for this I think it’s fantastic! Comfortable handle, strong smooth rivet hinge, well made razor tip holder and even comes with a pack of decent blades. If you’re just starting out with working a single blade, this is a great and inexpensive way to begin learning. I’ll be taking this on longer trips so I can leave the antique and expensive ones at home!
