Polti wins again!
I love Polti products. I have others. Great board. Just wish it was a little narrower at end for some items........I stretched t-shirts round the neck as it is wider than last board also a Polti. Love the wheels on the board. Very sensible.Good service too.

Useful ironing board for steam generator iron
I quite like this ironing Board. It is quite sturdy and does feel a little heavy but not significantly different to others. The colour is white and the cover is a pale blue and white. This cover is a good one and gives a nice solid feel when ironing. The iron rest is easily large enough for a steam generator iron and has a little guard around to prevent accidentally dislodging iron. The height is easily adjustable and although I believe there is 7 settings I just find the one that suits me and stick to it. There is an extension for holding flex of iron but I never use these. There s a tray for holding ironed clothing with can be useful. There are 2 wheels on the end which are to help moving board. To be honest as I am only 4ft 9 ins. holding the ironing board upright is awkward so I doubt I will use them. My husband did say it made movie the board easier. Overall it is quite a useful ironing board that I think will prove very durable

iron in
Put simply, if you need a premium ironing board that'll also handle a steam generator iron sat on the end, then these larger sized boards are the best option. This Polti is little different from its competitor Brabantia. Both produce sturdy well made boards that are more designed to be permanently situated in a spare room / laundry room/ utility rather than taken down and moved each time. It's not totally heavy weight but it certainly is more than a typical 110 x 35cm board that is designed for that purpose. So why the wheels? An odd touch and unlikely used that much.A relatively expensive board but they last forever with the cover usually good for at least two years with moderate use before it starts flaking.

Polti Vaporella Ironing Board 122x43.5cm
The Polti Vaporella Ironing Board has been designed specifically for steam generator irons and being reinforced for the purpose is strong but heavy to manoeuvre despite the wheels provided to help with the process. The board surface is large, stable and has a good quality cover. The frame has 7 adjustable height settings, an integrated shelf and a cable holder β although I find that both the shelf and the cable holder are more of a gimmick than practical and useful. All in all a good quality, solid ironing board which is fit for purpose but is big and heavy which may make it difficult to manage for those who are infirm, have pains in their arms/hands etc. and for those with limited storage space. 3*

Iron maiden
I have an amazingly big, heavy and effective steam iron. Up until now I've had its base unit on the floor whilst I stretched the iron's lead up as far as the ironing board purely because my Brabantia ironing boat wasn't sturdy enough to support the significant weight of my new ironing beast! This industrial size and strength ironing board can bear the load just fine and the extra width is great for when I'm pressing bedding items. I'm still not sure I can justify the price though.
