Family Tradition
I have read this book every year of my life. When I moved out I knew I had to buy it so I wasn't behind. This is the perfect short story book that has so much rich meaning behind it! Reading it with the family every night is one of my favorite childhood memories and Christmas traditions.

Sweet Advent tradition for the little ones
Love this book! A favorite family tradition for years now, started when our oldest was about 2. What an adorable way to share the true meaning Christmas with little ones. We looked forward to our nightly Advent book all throughout December. As our boys grew older, we took turns reading the story to the family each night. This is the first year that we haven't read it because our 4 boys are too old 😢 but I bought it for our nephew. When my13-year-old saw my wrapping the book he said "You're not giving away our Advent book, are you?!" I call that a win!

Great Christmas tradition.
Love the tradition of reading these stories to my daughter each year. She is now a teen and doesn't tell me she is too old to listen. This book demonstrates the true meaning of Christmas not the retail Christmas. I have purchased this book for friends when they have a baby. I am lucky enough to have the Advent Calendar to open along with Little Bear. These are not available any more which is too bad.

Good story but Not biblical
Nice story collage for advent, good messages but no actual biblical reference in the writing although somewhat implied as various characters follow a star to eventually find a baby in a stable (with no explanation as to why the family/baby is there or who they are).

great christmas gift
I bought this for my nephew because I have been reading it to my kids for over a century. It is a terrific book to read over advent. I have given it to multiple people and everyone loves it.

brings child into the Christmas spirit
This was one of the books my mother read to me when I was little, so I'm happy to have found it here so I could give it as a gift for the daughters of a dear friend of mine. Her daughters loved it and can't wait to read it next year too

Great, meaningful
I bought this book to share with my first graders at the start of class each day of Advent and so far they are loving it. The stories are short enough to be good for younger children, but long enough to be meaningful and to impart a valuable daily message that can then spark discussions. My students love looking for "the star" on each page, and were particularly tickled when St. Nick appeared a few days ago. Very nicely written, and certainly worth buying if you're looking for something more meaningful than a chocolate calendar to countdown with. (Though this is obviously decidedly less delicious than a chocolate calendar.)

Lovely book with short stories and great pictures
We love this book, purchased it this year to read with my 7 and 5 year old. The stories on each day of december are two minutes long and have lovely pictures to go with them. It follows a little bears journey to Bethlehem and has a lovely lesson to learn on each page. My two are really enjoying it and I am sure we will get it out next year and maybe let them read it to us. I wish we had known about this book a couple of years ago
