The top is hard to screw on and off

Perfect size for a gathering or everyday use. It was easy to install the spigot and I was ready to go...well after I washed it which is uper simple. This is a must have!

I thought this would be the ideal jar to use for continuous-brew Kombucha. I have a square beverage dispenser that is larger that wasn't working for me because the square shape made dealing with the kombucha "mushroom" difficult. I thought this smaller jar (that I thought was round) would work better, but when it arrived it, too, was square. Don't get me wrong: This is a heavy glass jar that looks fantastic, and the spigot is steel and completely leak-free. The little chalkboard is a nice feature, too. I'm giving it five stars because it deserves it. But I'm sad that it isn't round because that's what I wanted for my kombucha. Maybe I'll use it for my stabilized LAB serum....

The media could not be loaded. Had this for a week and I really loved it. Today I poured very hot water in it to make tea. I heard a crack and realized the bottom had popped off. I wish I had known that before I bought it! It’s glass ! I thought hot water wouldn’t break it.

This is ready to use. You have to put the spigot on but that was easy for my husband. Not for me. I would have liked a short instruction on that.However, this is exactly what I wanted for family meals. No more kids in the refrigerator. I will order a few more at this price.
